Actor Arun Vijay was last seen on screens as antagonist in the action drama Idly Kadai helmed and headlined by actor Dhanush K Raja with actresses Nithya Menen and Shalini Pandey as female leads. The Kuttram 23 actor is now getting ready for the release of his next action thriller Retta Thala. He is said to have played dual roles in the flick. Story teller Kris Thirukumaran, who previously delivered movies like Maan Karate and Gethu, has written and helmed the entertainer.
Actresses Siddhi Idnani of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu fame and Tanya Ravichandran of Rasavathi fame have been cast against the actor in the film. The shoot for the venture took place in various parts of Chennai, Tharangampadi, Pondicherry, and Goa. Retta Thala is slated to hit theaters worldwide as a festive release on Christmas, 25th of December. The production house has now unveiled the trailer of the entertainer on social media.
Taking to their official X handle, the team of BTG Universal dropped a short clip along with a link to the trailer of Retta Thala and worded, “The roar has begun. The two minutes odd trailer of Retta Thala begins with the voiceover of actor Arun Vijay, “Life recall. It is said that a collection of happy memories is a good life. The only person I was happy with in my life, or even in my memories is with my Andrea.” We have the voiceover of the heroine, “One life, and we live only once. We should live it to its fullest.” The shot cuts to a woman saying, “The blank check will go to the one that kills the man who murdered my husband.”
In a scene we have a badly beaten-up Arun Vijay mouthing, “Death is laughing at me. Let us see whether its death or me. Life gets boring if there are no surprises.” Then we are presented with a few shots of action blocks. Following which Arun Vijay promises Siddhi Idnani, “Nothing will happen to you. I will not allow it.” The trailer ends with him asking, “Me or money? Which will keep you happy?”
Star cast of Retta Thala also comprises actors Hareesh Peradi, Bigg Boss fame Balaji Murugadoss, Vincent Ashokan, John Vijay, Yogesh Samy, Nitish Nirmal, and Yog Japee. Music director Sam C S has composed music for the film. Already three tracks ‘Kannamma’ penned by Sam C S in the voice of Dhanush K Raja, ‘Kandara Kolli’ inked by Viveka in the vocals of Sivam, and ‘Dark Theme’ written and sung by Sam C S is out from the album.
Cinematographer Tijo Tomy has been behind the lens for the entertainer. Editor Anthony has been signed in to trim the flick. Art director Arun Shankar Durai has erected sets for the movie. Action director Prabhu Chandrasekar has designed action moves for the entertainer. Retta Thala is produced by Bobby Balachandran under his production banner BTG Universal.
On the professional front, actor Arun Vijay has three of his long-delayed ventures Boxer helmed by story teller Vivek K Kannan in which he has collaborated with actresses Ritika Singh & Sanjjanaa Galrani, Agni Siragugal directed by Naveen in which he has teamed up with actors Vijay Antony & Akshara Haasan, and Borrder crafted by Arivazhagan in the box awaiting release.
On the other hand, actress Siddhi Idnani will soon have her next release in Nooru Kodi Vaanavil helmed by Sasi in which she has partnered with actor Harish Kalyan. Actress Tanya Ravichandran is currently busy with her next untitled entertainer crafted by Manikandan in which she will be featuring alongside actors Jiiva and Amyra Dastur.
