Actor Atharvaa Murali had his last outing in the likes of the sports action drama Pattathu Arasan which hit the theaters under the direction of A Sarkunam with actress Ashika Ranganath in the female lead role. The entertainer did not live up to the expectations of the audience. Thus, left the theaters unnoticed. The Semma Botha Aagathey actor has now moved on, and is gearing up for the release of his debut web series christened Mathagam. Actor K Manikandan of Jai Bhim fame has played a vital part in the series. Actress Nikhila Vimal has portrayed the female lead role. Story teller Prasath Murugesan who had previously helmed Kidaari has written and directed the series. The series which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage shaping up for release.
The production house has now unveiled the teaser of the series on social media. Taking to their official twitter handle, Disney + Hotstar dropped the teaser of Mathagam and wrote, “இது நீள் இரவு. Mathagam teaser out Now. The Night is Long.” Here is the post made by Disney + Hotstar.

One-minute odd teaser video opens to the voiceover of actor Atharvaa Murali, “What will a night do to us? It will send us on a wild goose chase trying to figure out what is right and wrong. It will open some paths; it will also impede some paths. It will deprive us of hope, and instill a sense of doubt. It will blind our eyes to who is adjacent to us, and opposite to us. A small light cannot light massive darkness. Because it is a long night.” From the teaser one could gauge that a chain of crimes has been perpetrated and actor Atharvaa Murali is on the hunt to bring the culprits to justice. The series will be streamed on the Disney + Hotstar OTT platform. It will be released in languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. An official date of release will be announced in the coming days.

The entertainer is produced by Parthasarathy Gokulyadav along with Sundar Arumugam and Ajay Kumar Nagarajan under the production company Screen Scene Media Entertainment.
On the work front, actor Atharvaa Murali who was last seen on screens in Pattathu Arasan is currently busy shooting for Otthaikku Otthai scripted by Barnesh in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Sri Divya, and Vidya Pradeep, and for a Kannada flick Local Train filmed by Ramanna. Apart from these films, the actor has Address directed by Raja Mohan in which he has collaborated with actors Esakki Bharath, and Pooja Jhaveri, Thanal helmed by Ravindra Madhava in which he will be seen alongside actress Lavanya Tripathi, and Nirangal Moondru crafted by Karthick Naren in which he has co starred with actors Sarath Kumar, and Rahman in different stages of post-production getting fine tuned for release. On the other hand, actress Nikhila Vimal who was last seen on screens in Tamil in Por Thozhil is currently busy shooting for a couple of her Malayalam dramas titled Thaaram crafted by Vinay Govind in which she will be romancing actor Nivin Pauly, and for Oru Jaathi Oru Jaathakam under the direction of story teller M Mohanan in which she will be co starring with actor Vineeth Sreenivasan. Apart from these movies, the actress has Vaazhai helmed by director Mari Selvaraj in which she has associated with actor Kalaiyarasan in the post production stage getting refined for release.
