Actor Vijay last graced the silver screens in the action thriller GOAT – The Greatest Of All Time scripted by Venkat Prabhu with actress Meenakshi Chaudhary in the female lead part. The Leo actor is now eagerly awaiting the release of his most anticipated last outing of his career in the political action thriller Jana Nayagan. Story teller H Vinoth, who helmed actor Ajith Kumar in Nerkonda Paarvai, Valimai, and Thunivu has inked and directed the film.
Actress Pooja Hegde, who collaborated with actor Vijay in Beast, has once again joined forces with him in the entertainer. Bollywood star Bobby Deol of Animal fame has depicted the role of villain in the flick. Jana Nayagan has been made with a massive budget of 300 crores. It was shot across multiple locations in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Sivagangai, and Erode.
Uncertainty prevails as to whether the film will release as scheduled on 9th of January due to delay in censor certification. There will be a clear sense in a day or two. Meanwhile, the makers have now released the trailer of the drama on social media.
Taking to their official X account, the team of KVN Productions shared a couple of special posters along with links to the trailer of Jana Nayagan and wrote, “Sambavam pandravana kelvipatrupa . . . The nearly three minutes trailer of Jana Nayagan opens to a man enquiring via a call, “Dear old man, I have sent you a name on your phone to tell me his horoscope.” He responds in shock, “Hope you did not try your tricks? You would have heard of a killer with many notches of murder, but have you heard of a top-notch pro who beats his own records? That is Thalapathy for you! Do not touch him. He will slice you to pieces.”
The shot cuts to a little girl asking Vijay, “You bashed up an entire battalion, are you super man?” He replies, “I am just an ordinary man, baby. But I have heard people say whatever I do is super! Girls should never be scared. Should raise Viji like a tigress.” We witness him train the girl likewise. Following which he tells her, “At least this year, sign properly in the army application form, dear.” In a shot he mouths a political punch, “All the thugs have ganged up together. They should not win.”
The trailer ends with the star delivering an ultimate punch, “I will close your chapter. I will disgrace you. Anyone can make these tall claims. I have no intention of turning my back. I am coming. Instead of entering politics to serve the people selflessly you barge into politics to loot and kill innocent lives!”
Musician Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for the venture. It marks his fifth association with actor Vijay following their successful albums in Kaththi, Master, Beast, and Leo. Already four songs ‘Thalapathy Kacheri’ written by Arivu in the voice of Vijay, Anirudh Ravichander, & Arivu, ‘Oru Pere Varalaaru’ inked by Vivek sung by Vishal M Mishra & Anirudh Ravichander, ‘Chella Magale’ penned by Vivek in the vocals of Anirudh Ravichander, and ‘Raavana Mavandaa’ in the lyrics of Vivek crooned by Anirudh Ravichander is already out from the album.
Ensemble cast of Jana Nayagan also comprises Mamitha Baiju of Dude fame, Nassar, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, Shruti Haasan, Priyamani, Jason Shah, Revathi, Baba Bhaskar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Teejay Arunasalam, Kumar Natarajan, Monisha Blessy, Reba Monica John, Sandeep Raviraj, Srinath, Lithanya, Irfan Zaini, Madan Gowri, and Arun Kumar Rajan. Cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan has shouldered camera for the project.
Editor Pradeep E Ragav has been hired to edit the entertainer. Art director Selva Kumar has designed the background for the film. Action master Anl Arasu has engineered action blocks for the venture. Jana Nayagan is bankrolled by Venkat K Narayana along with Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith N K under the production label KVN Productions.
On the professional side, actress Pooja Hegde is currently busy shooting for her future Tamil movie Kanchana 4 directed and headlined by Raghava Lawrence with actress Nora Fatehi as the second female lead, an untitled Telugu entertainer helmed by Ravi Nelakuditi in which she will be costarring with actor Dulquer Salmaan, and a Bollywood drama Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai filmed by David Dhawan in which she will be seen alongside actors Varun Dhawan & Mrunal Thakur.
