Actress Sunainaa had her last outing in Laththi which hit the screens under direction of A. Vinoth Kumar with actor Vishal in the lead role. The movie was tagged with negative reviews by critics, and audiences. Hence, had a tepid response in the box office. The Neerparavai actress has now moved on, and is gearing up for the release of her next film christened Regina. Actor Nivas Adthitan played the love interest of the actress. Malayalam director Domin DSilva will be venturing into Kollywood with Regina. He has worked with writer Madhu Vasu on the script. The venture which went on floors in Udumalpet, Tiruppur with a small pooja ceremony was shot in the surrounding locations of Pollachi and Varkala. The entertainer is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage shaping up for release.
The production house had unveiled the teaser of the movie last month. Now, they have shared the trailer of the drama on social media. Actress Sunainaa herself has dropped the trailer. Taking to her official twitter page, the actress dropped a link to the trailer of Regina, and wrote, “From us . . . to you. The trailer of Regina.” Here is the post made by the actress.

Nearly two minute trailer cut opens to a voiceover of a policeman, “Sir, I have collected all details about the woman. An old case . . .” Following which we have the voiceover of actor Bava Chelladurai, “A lion takes everything that is available in the forest to its den for its own use. Due to this, the rest of the animals in the forest could not get anything, and were hungry. Animals that could not bear being hungry gather together, and set fire to the lion’s den.” Then we have a shot where a character says, “Does not matter how powerful the lion is, it has to come out when it’s den is in fire.” There is a shot where actress Sunainaa mouths, “If anything goes wrong, angels will turn into demons.” The trailer has garnered the attention of the audience. Regina will have a pan India release in languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The makers are yet to fix a release date. An announcement regarding the same is expected to be made soon.
Speaking to a leading daily about the entertainer, storyteller Domin DSilva stated, “Regina is a revenge thriller. The story of the drama is about a housewife who is put in a tight spot, and her metamorphosis into becoming a robust character for her survival. I am sure the audience will enjoy it.” Talking on producing the entertainer, producer, and music composer Sathish Nair, said that he had made a series of independent albums, and felt that it would be great to use them in feature films to reach more audience. And that is when his meeting with director Domin DSilva happened, who happened to be looking for a producer, and since he found the script to be interesting, he decided to bankroll it.
Apart from actors Sunainaa, and Nivas Adthitan, the casting department of the venture has actors Rithu Manthra, Ananth Nag, Dhina, Gajaraj, Vivek Prasanna, Bava Chelladurai, Appani Sharath, Ranjan, Pasupathi Raj, and Gnanavel portraying various other supporting parts. Music director Sathish Nair has scored music for the project. Cinematographer Pavi K Pavan has shouldered cameras for the venture. The editing division of the drama has been handed over to editor Tony John. The movie is bankrolled by Sathish Nair for his banner house Yellow Bear Production LLP.
On the work front, actress Sunainaa who was last seen on screens in Tamil in Laththi is currently waiting for the release of her long-delayed drama titled Kathirvel directed by story teller Venkat in which she has collaborated with actor Ajmal Ameer, and Eriyum Kannadi helmed by film maker Sachin Dev in which she has co starred with actor Nakul for the third time following Kadhalil Vizhunthen, and Maasilamani, in the post production stage getting refined for release.
