Rukmini Vasanth Bio

Born and raised in Bengaluru, Rukmini Vasanth began exploring performance through ballet and school theatre. She continued acting in stage productions while at school and completed Trinity-Guildhall drama examinations, writing her own dramatic pieces as part of the process. She later took an intensive acting course at RADA in London, completing it in 2015. In 2017, she joined the Spargel-Starlight Theatre Tour in Germany.

Her screen career began in 2019 with Birbal Trilogy: Case 1 – Finding Vajramuni, where she played Jahnavi. She also appeared as an NGO worker in Upstarts that year. In 2023, she took the role of Priya in Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side A and returned for Sapta Sagaradaache Ello - Side B. The two-part Kannada romantic drama became her breakthrough, and she received the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress in Kannada for her performance. She also played Leela in Baanadariyalli during the same year.

Her 2024 releases included Bagheera as Dr. Sneha, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo as Tara and Bhairathi Ranagal as Vaishali. She subsequently appeared as Rukku in Ace and Malathi in Madharaasi. In Kantara - A Legend: Chapter 1, she played Princess Kanakavathi. The film became the highest-grossing release of her career to that point. Her other credited projects include Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-ups, Dragon, Dharman, Yellamma and several films listed under working or untitled project names.
