Actor Vikram had his last outing in the neo noir action thriller Veera Dheera Sooran helmed by S U Arun Kumar with actors S J Suriya and Dushara Vijayan in the lead roles. The Kadaram Kondan actor is currently busy shooting for his next venture tentatively titled Chiyaan 63. Story teller Anand Shankar, who previously directed actor Vikram in Iru Mugan, has written and is helming the movie. Writer Shan Karuppusamy has penned dialogues for the drama.
Actresses Riya Shibu of Thugs fame and Kayadu Lohar of Dragon fame are being rumored to be cast as female leads in the project. However, there is no official confirmation from the production unit yet. Actor Vikram recently celebrated his 60th birthday. As a token of love, the makers have now launched the first flame teaser of the entertainer on social media.
Taking to their official X profile, production team of Sathya Jyothi Films shared a special poster along with a link to first flame teaser of Chiyaan 63 and worded, “What starts as a FLAME ends in a BLAZE Chiyaan 63 FIRST FLAME out now. Wishing the one and only Chiyaan Vikram a very happy birthday! Cooking Starts Now. Chiyaan 63 First Flame, Sathya Jyothi Films, Vikram, Anand Shankar, Santhosh Narayanan, R D Rajasekar, Arjun Thyagarajan, Sai Siddharth, Poornima Ramaswamy, Shan Karuppusamy, Gopi Prasannaa, Aim Sathish, Aim PRO, Yuvraaj.” Here is the post made by the production unit.
The one minute odd first flame of Chiyaan 63 opens to a voiceover asking someone, “Who is that guy inside?” He responds, “Just a cook. But do not take him lightly. He is dangerous.” He tells him, “We are already in. we will handle it.” We learn that a group of henchmen are trying to get into a derelict building.
One among them says, “This many of us and he is not even breaking a sweat.” Another person replies, “Light this baby up. Let us watch him run.” They break the glass window of the building and throw in an explosive. We have the intro of actor Vikram sitting in the dark without any panic. He strikes a match and lights his cigarette. The First flame video ends with a note, ‘Cooking starts now.’
Chiyaan 63 is touted to be a high-octane action thriller which will have actor Vikram playing the role of a chef. The production team is currently zeroing in on the rest of the artists that will round out the cast. An official announcement regarding the same is expected to be made soon.
Music director Santhosh Narayanan has been brought on board to work on the musical division of the movie. This film marks his second association with actor Vikram following their successful album in Karthik Subbaraj’s Mahaan. Cinematographer R D Rajasekar has been roped in to take care of the cinematography department of the venture.
Editor Raymond Derrick Crasta has been hired to bring coherence to the drama. Art director Surya Rajeevan will engineer sets for the project. Stunt director Dinesh Kasi will choreograph action blocks for the film. Chiyaan 63 is produced by Arjun Thyagarajan and Sendhil Thyagarajan along with Sai Siddharth and G Saravanan under the production company Sathya Jyothi Films.
On the professional side, actor Vikram is simultaneously shooting for his future dramas tentatively christened Chiyaan 64 directed by C Prem Kumar, Chiyaan 65 crafted by Bodi Rajkumar in which he will be romancing actress Shruti Haasan, and Mahavir Karna filmed by R S Vimal in which he will be collaborating with actors Suresh Gopi and Jagan. Apart from these projects, he has his long-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram crafted by Gautham Vasudev Menon in which he has shared screen space with actors Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, Parthiban, and Simran in the box awaiting release.
