Actor Dhanush K Raja lastly had a successful outing in Hindi cinema via the romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein helmed by Aanand L Rai with actress Kriti Sanon as female lead. The Karnan actor will soon return to Tamil cinema with his upcoming project Kara. Director Vignesh Raja, who caught the attention of audiences with his work Por Thozhil, has directed the film. Writer Alfred Prakash has offered his expertise in shaping the story’s trajectory.
Actress Mamitha Baiju of Dude fame has been paired with actor Dhanush in the movie. Malayalam actor Jayaram has portrayed a key part in the drama. Kara is all set to arrive in theaters worldwide on 30th of April. The makers have already begun to promote the film. As part of it, they had shared the title teaser and a couple of singles on social media. They have now unveiled the trailer of the flick.
Taking to their official X profile, the production team of Vels Film International released a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Kara and worded, “Kara Trailer is here. The two minute odd trailer of Kara opens to a news broadcast, “Greetings. Our top headlines. As the gulf war enters its sixth month of escalation, hundreds of oil wells in Kuwait were set on fire today by Iraq. Experts fear this move will trigger a massive impact on the global economy.”
A voiceover narrates, “On a Monday night he broke into a bank, went inside, and robbed it. But he did not stop there. The very next day, he robbed another bank in broad daylight. That means he must be in urgent need.” The shot cuts to a woman blubbering, “Why are you staying silent? Why won’t you tell the truth?”
In a scene we see Dhanush’s mom welcoming him, “Where were you all these years, son? What have you been doing?” Subsequently, actor Karunas tells K S Ravikumar, “I have my doubts about his return.” An irked K S Ravikumar replies him, “Hey, why would you say that? He has returned as a reformed man.”
In a shot we witness actress Mamitha Baiju questioning Dhanush, “Where have you been?” He responds, “I was out on some work.” She asks him, “What kind of work? Stealing?” We then see him being beaten up in police custody. The scene cuts to him telling someone in a call, “I need the money. You won’t understand the position I am in.”
Then, an emotional Dhanush fulminates, “Breaking through roofs, dropping in through holes: that is all I know! So, what am I supposed to do now?” The teaser ends with the voiceover of actor Suraj Venjaramoodu, “He is definitely getting caught today, sir. Either alive or as a corpse.”
The casting team of Kara also comprises actors Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, S Rajapandi, Nithin Sathya, M S Baskar, Sreeja Ravi, Kushmitha, K S Ravikumar, and Karunas. Music director G V Prakash Kumar has handled musical gears for the entertainer. Two singles ‘Vaaya Ey Karasaami’ crooned by Arunraja Kamaraj, Satyan, Anthony Daasan, & V M Mahalingam in the lyrics of Arunraja Kamaraj, and ‘Kannamma En Kannamma’ penned & sung by Dhanush K Raja is already out from the album.
Cinematographer Theni Eswar ISC has cranked the camera for the movie. Editor Sreejith Sarang has been signed in to trim the flick. Art director Mayapandi has fashioned sets for the venture. Action director Dinesh Kasi has designed action blocks for the drama. Kara is funded by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh in affiliation with Kushmitha Ganesh for their home productions Vels Film International.
On the work front, actor Dhanush K Raja is now busy with his next project tentatively christened D 55 crafted by Rajkumar Periasamy in which he will be starring with actors Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela. Beside this movie, the Maaran actor has D 56 helmed by Mari Selvaraj, Kalam: The Missile Man Of India scripted by Om Raut, Ilaiyaraaja directed by Arun Matheswaran, Aayirathil Oruvan 2 crafted by Selvaraghavan, Pudhupettai 2 also filmed by Selvaraghavan, and a couple of untitled entertainers under the direction of Nelson Dilipkumar & H Vinoth in pre-production stage.
On the other hand, actress Mamitha Baiju will soon have consecutive releases in Tamil cinema via Vishwanath & Sons helmed by Venky Atluri in which she has romanced actor Suriya, Irandu Vaanam filmed by Ram Kumar in which she has partnered with actor Vishnu Vishal, and Jana Nayagan directed by H Vinoth in which she has featured alongside actors Vijay, Pooja Hegde, & Bobby Deol. The actress is now engrossed in her next Malayalam flick Bethlehem Kudumba Unit scripted by A D Girish in which she will be costarring with actor Nivin Pauly, and Premalu 2 crafted by A D Girish in which she will be seen alongside actors Mathew Thomas & Naslen.
