Actor Kayal Chandran lastly had a release in the digital space in the comedy web series Chutney Sambar helmed by Radha Mohan with actors Yogi Babu, Vani Bhojan, and Nithin Sathya in lead roles. The Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam actor is now gearing up for the release of his next flick christened Singha. Debutant story teller Raja Durai Singam, erstwhile assistant of directors Vasanth & Sarkunam, has written and directed the entertainer.
Malayalam actress Sija Rose George of The Smile Man fame will be seen in the female lead role in the flick. An official date for the release of the drama is expected to be announced soon. Meanwhile, the production house has now dropped the teaser of the project on social media.
Taking to their official X handle, the team of S R Films shared a small clip along with a link to the teaser of Singha and captioned it, “Kayal Chandran’s Singha teaser is out now – a lively and feel-good take on a man – dog friendship. Presented by: S R Films, Ruthram Cinemas. Chandramouli P S, Sija Rose George, Raja Durai Singam, Manoj Chinnaswamy, Anthony Daasan, Bobby Anthony, Rekha.” Here is the post made by the production unit.
The two minutes odd teaser of Singha begins with a group of friends listening to an audio recording, “Sorry Pradeep. I am leaving the house. Look after Singha well. Do not forgo him for anyone or anything.” The scene cuts to actor Adithya Kathir advising Kayal Chandran, “When wife steps in to the entrance of the house, husband must stop using Whatsapp.” He responds, “You know me. I am a pet lover.” Adithya Kathir replies, “You being a pet lover is not the problem. But it is your ex-lover’s pet.”
Then an old man tells Kayal Chandran, “First the dog will have milk. Then it will bite you. Be careful.” In a shot we witness his wife complaining about the dog to him, “We are feeding him a variety of chicken and mutton every week. Look what he has done. How did you get this dog?” We are then presented a romantic shot where Kayal Chandran tells Sija Rose George, “If you had not come into my life, I would have lost myself. Can we both get married?”
In a shot Adithya Kathir ridicules Kayal Chandran, “Devadas lived with his dog after his girlfriend abandoned him. You are living with your wife, kid, & family, along with a dog, and trying to deceive your wife.” Subsequently, Sija Rose George asks Kayal Chandran, “If she and the dog she gave you is more important to you, then why did you marry me?” The teaser ends with a quip where Vijay’s political speech is telecasted, “Competition is between only two people . . .” An upset Sija Rose George turns off the TV.
Apart from Kayal Chandran and Sija Rose George, the star cast of the drama also has actors Adithya Kathir, Meenakshi Raveendran, Aristo Suresh, TSR, Dayalan, Suparna, V Suresh Thampanoor, Karthi, and Ravichandran depicting various supporting roles. Music composer Manoj Chinnaswamy has been roped in to work on the musical department of the flick. Already a number ‘Kaathukulla Kuruvi’ in the vocals of Anthony Daasan lyrics written by Mani Amuthavan is out from the album.
Cinematographer Ashokkumar Raj has taken care of the cinematography division of the venture. Editor A R Sivaraj Rajamani has been brought on board to chop and patch the film. Art director Kalai Muthamizhan has erected sets for the movie. Stunt master Abishek Srinivas has choreographed action blocks for the flick. The entertainer is bankrolled by S R Rajan under the production house S R Films along with Velayutham Rajendran for the production label Ruthram Cinemas.
On the work side, actor Kayal Chandran is currently busy shooting for his future entertainer Daavu crafted by Rambhala, and Graghanam scripted by Elan in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Nandini Rai, Karunakaran, and Jayaprakash.
