Vishal’s Magudam Trailer: Three Distinct Personalities Race Toward A Common Goal!
Actor Vishal last graced the silver screens in the action-comedy flick Madha Gaja Raja helmed by Sundar C with actresses Anjali and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar as female leads. The Mark Antony actor is now gearing up for the release of his next Tamil Telugu bilingual action thriller Magudam. Makutam is the title of the Telugu edition. Actor Vishal makes his directorial debut with the project. Writer Ravi Arasu has written the story of the film. Writers Anand Kumaresan and Pon Parthiban have helped with the dialogues.
Actresses Anjali of Angadi Theru fame and Dushara Vijayan of Sarpatta Parambarai fame have depicted the female lead roles in the movie. The film was shot at several zones in Chennai, Ooty, Visakhapatnam, and Kakinada. Magudam is slated to release in theaters on 14th of August. The makers have been promoting the entertainer by releasing singles from the album. They have now launched the trailer of the venture on social media.
Taking to his official X timeline, actor Vishal himself dropped a special poster along with links to Tamil and Telugu trailers of Magudam and captioned it, “Trailer Out Now. The celebration has begun. The crown is rising. Magudam / Makutam Trailer is Here – Tamil – Telugu – Director Vishal, Magudam Trailer, Makutam Trailer, Magudam Release On Aug 14th, Makutam Release On Aug 14th. The nearly three minute trailer of Magudam opens to someone instructing a squad, “Go . . . Go . . . Go. Move in, move in . . .” Then we have someone saying, “Two of them here. Easy pickings, grab them. Hey! Kill him, kill him, I say.” We are introduced to two characters played by actor Vishal, one of whom says, “Acting smart with us? Come on. Try me now. Face to face.”
The shot cuts to someone enquiring Vishal, “What is your name, son?” An innocent looking Vishal says, “Kirubakaran. I am a medical rep, sir.” Elsewhere in Visakhapatnam, a gangster asks Vishal, “I have heard a lot about you. Your name?” A rugged Vishal responds, “Linga. In your harbor, I handle minor contracts.” Then a character says, “When Linga decides, it means it is done and dusted.”
Subsequently, we have a voiceover introducing Vishal as a family man, “You have a beautiful, chatterbox of a wife.” Actress Dushara Vijayan warns Vishal, “You know who my father is, right?” The scene shifts to actress Anjali threatening Vishal, “Do you love me? I know why you are constantly buzzing around me. Bloody rascal!”
Earlier, describing his roles in the film, actor Vishal stated, “Magudam will have many awe moments and surprises. I will be seen in three different roles. Each character will not just be different in their attires, but have unique mannerism and personality. One character is a medical rep who hails from a middle-class background. Another character is a gangster with a quirky nature. The third one is an aficionado of Ilaiyaraaja’s music.”
The casting team of the flick also comprises actors Yogi Babu, Vamsi Krishna, Jaya Prakash, John Vijay, Thambi Ramaiah, Abu Salim, Ajay, Sabhumon, Anandaraj, Arjai, Padam Kumar, and VJ Jhansi. Music director G V Prakash Kumar has composed music for the project. This is the third time he is collaborating with actor Vishal after their successful soundtracks in Naan Sigappu Manithan and Mark Antony.
Four songs ‘Rise Of Linga’ crooned by rapper V7H & G V Prakash Kumar lyrics inked by V7H, ‘Nachindhi Machane’ in the vocals of Mangli & Velmurugan lyrics written by K Ekadesi, ‘Kalangaadhe’ in the voice of G V Prakash Kumar lyrics penned by L Karunakaran, and Kaathaaga Vaazhaporam’ crooned by Haricharan and Meghna Sumesh lyrics written by Vivek, is already out from the album.
Cinematographers Richard M Nathan & Abinandhan Ramanujam have shouldered cameras for the flick. Editor N B Srikanth has been roped in to trim the entertainer. Art director G Durairaj has fashioned the background for the movie. Stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan has designed action moves in the venture. The entertainer is backed by B Suresh, R B Jeevan Choudary, Jithan Ramesh, and Jiiva under the production house Super Good Films. Magudam is the 99th milestone project for the banner.
On the professional front, actor Vishal is now immersed in his next entertainer Purushan scripted by Sundar C in which he will be starring alongside actors Tamannaah Bhatia & Yogi Babu, and Thupparivaalan 2 crafted and headlined by himself with actor Prasanna as second lead.
On the other hand, actress Anjali is awaiting the premiere of Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai directed by Ram in which she has worked with actors Nivin Pauly & Soori. The Kalakalappu actress is presently occupied in her next venture Eegai filmed by Ashok Velayutham in which she will be performing with actors Santhosh Prathap & Abi Natchatra, and a Telugu film Anandha Bhairavi created by Balaji K in which she will be joining forces with actors Raai Laxmi & Thrigun. Actress Dushara Vijayan is now shooting for Almost Nallavan helmed and headlined by Raju Jeyamohan with actors Imman Annachi & Sathyaraj in the lead roles.
