Actor Shanmuga Pandian Vijayakant lastly entertained audiences in the action movie Padai Thalaivan which hit the screens under the directorial of U Anbu with actress Yamini Chander as female lead. The Sagaptham star will soon have a release in the upcoming gangster film titled Kombuseevi. Story teller Ponram, who has previously crafted rural dramas like Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan, has inked and directed the entertainer.
Actress Tharnika is set to make her debut in Kollywood with her female lead role in the project. Earlier the makers had announced that the film will be released for Christmas this year. We now have news that the venture will be out in theaters a week sooner on 19th of December. They have publicized the news on social media.

Kombuseevi Release Poster
The production team has been promoting the flick across multiple platforms by dropping the teaser and songs from the project. Kombuseevi is touted to be based on real life incidents that transpired in the 90s in the regions of Usilampatti and Andipatti. Though billed as a gangster drama the teaser was filled with humor bearing resemblance to the likes of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan.
Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has been trusted with the musical department of the venture. Two numbers ‘Unna Naan Paatha’ written by Yugabharathi in the vocals of Yuvan Shankar Raja, and ‘Vasthara’ sung by Vishnupriya Ravi, Thamizh Aadhavan, & Yuvan Shankar Raja in the lyrics of Super Subbu, is already out from the album.
Besides Shanmuga Pandian and Tharnika, the casting unit of the entertainer also has veteran actor R Sarath Kumar, Anaira Gupta, Kaali Venkat, and Kalki Raja depicting various supporting characters. Cinematographer Balasubramaniam has handled camera gears for the film. Editor Dinesh Ponraj has been brought on board to chop and patch the flick.
Art director Saravana Abiram has designed the background for the entertainer. Action directors Phoenix Prabhu and Sakthi Saravanan have fashioned action moves for the project. The movie is backed by Mukesh T Chelliah under the banner house Star Cinemas.
On the professional side, actor Shanmuga Pandian is presently busy shooting for his next untitled drama directed by story teller Anbarasan in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Yamini Chander.
On the other hand, actor Sarath Kumar is currently engaged in his upcoming film Ezham Iravil helmed by Akhil M Bose, and Samaran filmed by director Thirumalai Baluchamy in which he will be teaming up with actors Vidharth & Suhasini.
