Actor Vikram Prabhu who turned the attention of Tamil cinema audience in his very first film Kumki which hit the screens under the directorial of director Prabhu Solomon has struggled since then to deliver a solid hit film. Though flicks like Ivan Veramathiri, Arima Nambi, and Sigaram Thodu received critical acclamation, they did not shine in the box office as expected. But the actor is very determined to establish himself as a bankable hero in Kollywood and inks his signature only for flicks with quality content.
Now, the actor who was last seen in the action thriller Thuppakki Munai directed by Dinesh Selvaraj starring Hansika Motwani in the female lead role, is gearing up for the release of his next action crime thriller Asura Guru. The production unit has launched the trailer of the flick recently and the flick promises to be an intense action thriller. Vikram Prabhu plays the role of a deranged burglar in the film and we get to see him perform some high octane action sequences in the trailer. To everyone’s amazement he is not the only one who is seen in the action scenes, Mahima Nambiar, who plays the female lead in the film is also seen in a bad ass role. From the trailer she appears to portray the role of a detective who is brave, rides motorbikes on her own and goes around solving crimes. Current comedy sensation Yogi Babu who has been cast almost in every film that hit the screens in the recent times provides the comical relief in the movie and the comedian impresses as always.
The action entertainer is scripted and directed by A. Raajdheep. Interestingly the dialogues for the project, is penned by Kabilan Vairamuthu and Chandru Manickavasagam. While Vikram Prabhu and Mahima Nambiar plays the lead roles, Govind Namdev, Urvashi, Mohan Raman, Manobala, Jagan, Yogi Babu, and Kumaravel will be seen in various other supporting roles. The musical instruments for the movie will be handled by Ganesh Raghavendra. The cinematography department of the venture is handled by Ravi K Chandran while A. Sreekar Prasad will be handling the editing department. The motion picture is bankrolled by J. B. S. Sathish under the banner JBS Film Studios.
Actor Vikram Prabhu who is desperately in need to deliver a hit is said to have high hopes on the intense action thriller which is touted to be more than just a cat and mouse chase sort of thriller. We will have to wait to see whether the thriller drama gives the necessary fillip to the actor’s career or just ends up as another flop show of the actor.
On the work front, the actor who is gearing up for the release of Asura Guru is currently busy shooting for his next project titled as Walter under the directorial of director U. Anbarasan in which he will be sharing the screen space with actors Sibiraj, Arjun Sarja, and Jackie Shroff. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is also set to essay an important role in the movie.
