Actor Prabhudeva last graced the silver screens in Hindi via Badass Ravi Kumar filmed by Keith Gomes with actors Himesh Reshammiya and Simona J in the lead roles. The Jolly O Gymkhana actor is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming Tamil film Moonwalk. Manoj Nirmala Sreedharan, founder of Behindwoods, is set to make his debut as a director in Tamil cinema. The story credit is also attributed to him.
Malayalam actor Aju Varghese, who announced his arrival in Kollywood via Paranthu Po, has essayed a key role in the film. Actor Yogi Babu has also portrayed a vital part in the flick. The makers have set summer of 2026 as the release window for the entertainer. They have now launched a preview video of all songs in the album in Mini-Cassette style on social media.

Oscar recipient A R Rahman and actor Prabhudeva have come together nearly after two decades. The duo has previously regaled us with epic classics in Kaadhalan, Love Birds, Minsara Kanavu, Mr. Romeo, and Gentleman. Interestingly, A R Rahman has sung all the songs in the album. Furthermore, there is a theme behind every number in the album. Yethu – A celebration of happiness, Mayile – A celebration of hard work, Macarena – A celebration of friendship, Tinga – A celebration of love, and Jiger – A celebration of life. The lyrics for the tracks are penned by lyricists Sathyan, Vivek, Vishnu Edavan, Arivu, and Vignesh.
Speaking in the audio launch event about why he crooned all numbers, A R Rahman disclosed, “I did what was asked of me. The director was very passionate about the plot. Hence, I agreed to his demand.” Story teller Manoj Nirmala Sreedharan stated, “I made this film for Rahman sir. Would anyone like it if we make someone else dance instead of Prabhudeva when he is in the film? Similarly, I requested him to sing all the numbers.”
The ensemble cast of Moonwalk also includes actors Redin Kingsley, Nishma Chengappa, Arjun Ashokan, Mottai Rajendran, KPY Ramar, Satz, Sushmitha Nayak, Dr. Santhosh Jacob, Ramkumar Nataraja, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TRS Srinivasan, and Deepa Shankar. Cinematographer Anoop V Shylaja has shouldered camera for the drama.
Editor Raymond Derrick Crasta has been contracted to trim the flick. Art director T Ramalingam has engineered sets for the movie. Stunt master Stunner Sam has designed action blocks for the entertainer. Moonwalk is funded by Manoj Nirmala Sreedharan in affiliation with Divya Manoj, and Praveen Elak under the production banner Behindwoods.
On the work front, actor Prabhudeva is currently working on several films Singanallur Signal directed by J M Raja Saravanan in which he will be romancing actress Bhavya Trikha, Musasi helmed by Sam Rodrigues in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Leona Lishoy, Wolf crafted by Vinu Venkatesh in which he will be teaming up with actresses Anasuya Bharadwaj, Anju Kurian, & Raai Laxmi, a Malayalam flick Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer filmed by Rojin Thomas in which he will be seen alongside actors Jayasurya & Anushka Shetty, and a Hindi film Maharagni: Queen of Queens scripted by Charan Tej Uppalapati in which he will be collaborating with actress Kajol.
