Music director turned actor G. V. Prakash Kumar was last seen on screens in the action thriller film Ayngaran which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Ravi Arasu with actress Mahima Nambiar as the female lead. The flick did not live up to the expectations of the audience. But managed to attain a decent commercial success. The actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his next entertainer christened Kalvan. Actress Ivana of Love Today fame will be seen in the female lead role. Debutant director P V Shankar has helmed the drama. Director P V Shankar has penned the script of Kalvan with the assistance of writer Ramesh Aiyappan. The project which went on floors a while ago was shot extensively in and around the surroundings of Kadambur. The venture is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage. The production unit had recently unveiled the motion poster of the movie, which garnered the attention of the audience.
Now, the production house has dropped the teaser of the film on social media. Actor G. V. Prakash Kumar himself has shared the teaser. Taking to his official twitter handle, the musician shared the teaser of the entertainer and wrote, “Here is the teaser of Kalvan. The over one-minute teaser opens in a forest region where an old man asks a village administrative officer, “There is no protection for our village sir. We are banking on you. Please offer protection to our village.” From the teaser one can safely assume that the film would talk about the human animal conflicts in the forest region. The short video also gives us a glimpse of criminal activities to pique our interest. Kalvan is said to be a comedy drama with a bit of adventure and thrill elements. The production team had earlier stated that Kalvan will be in theaters in the summer of 2023.
Apart from actors G. V. Prakash Kumar and Ivana, the casting division of the drama has actors Bharathiraja, Dheena, Gnanasambandam Gurunathan, and Vinoth Munna portraying various other supporting parts. Actor G. V. Prakash Kumar will also be composing the music for the movie. The cinematography department of the flick was taken care of by cinematographer P V Shanakar. Editor Raymond Derrick Crasta has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the venture. Master Dhilip Subbarayan has designed the action blocks for the film. The project is bankrolled by G Dilli Babu under the production label Axess film factory.
On the work front, actor G. V. Prakash Kumar who was last seen on screens in Ayngaran is currently busy shooting for his upcoming movie christened Idimuzhakkam helmed by story teller Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be collaborating with actress Gayathrie Shankar, and for an independent English venture titled Trap City. Apart from these flicks, the Selfie actor has 13 scripted by K Vivek in which he has associated with Gautham Vasudev Menon, and his long-delayed flick Basha Engira Antony crafted by Prasanth Pandiyaraj in various stages of post-production awaiting to see the light of day. The actor also has projects as music composer in the likes of Captain Miller filmed by director Arun Matheswaran, Mark Antony crafted by story teller Adhik Ravichandran, and Vaadivaasal directed by auteur Vetri Maaran. On the other hand, actress Ivana who had her last outing in Tamil in the likes of Love Today is currently busy shooting for her next Tamil project titled Complex under the direction of film maker Mantra Veerapandian in which she will be seen alongside actor Venkat Senguttuvan.
