Exceptional film maker of Tamil cinema Selvaraghavan who gave us delightful films like Thulluvadho Ilamai, Kaadhal Kondein, Pudhupettai, Aayirathil Oruvan, and Mayakkam Enna is soon set to exhibit his acting prowess to the audience of k-town. The man that has earned a name for himself with his unique film making style is expected to do the same as an actor as well. The first look poster of Saani Kaayidham which hit the social media some time ago heavily hints at that. In the poster actors Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh was seen in an untidy clothing sitting in a deep squat position. The poster garnered the attention of the audience and set the expectation level quite high. To add more weight to the film, Selvaraghavan shared a picture of a getup from the film which was appreciated by a lot of celebrities in the industry including his ex-sister-in-law Aishwarya Ranjinikanth. Earlier, it was announced from the production house of Saani Kaayidham that the flick will take the OTT route and skip the traditional theatrical release. Now we have news on the release date of the venture. It is said that the project will be hitting the OTT platform on 7th of April this year. The platform on which the movie will be available for streaming will be announced shortly by the production house. If the reports are true, Selvaraghavan will have consecutive release for two weeks in the likes of Saani Kaayidham and Beast.
Saani Kaayidham is said to be a revenge drama that is based on a real-life event that took place in the 80’s in Tamil Nadu. Actors Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh are said to play brother and sister in the film. Story teller Arun Matheswaran of Rocky fame has directed the drama. Apart from actors Selvaraghavan and Keerthy Suresh, the entertainer has actress Lizzie Antony essaying a vital part. The music for the drama is composed by music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. Cinematographer Yamini Yagnamurthy has cranked the camera for the flick. Editor Nagooran has taken care of the editing department. The venture is funded by Lalit under the banner house Seven Screen Entertainment.
On the work front, actor Selvaraghavan who will have a release in the likes of Saani Kaayidham will be seen in the antagonist role in actor Vijay’s Beast directed by film maker Nelson Dilipkumar which is set to hit the screens on 14th of April. Following it, he will once again don the director’s hat to helm Naane Varuven with his brother and actor Dhanush in the lead role. Reportedly, the film maker is also essaying a role in the film. On the other hand, actress Keerthy Suresh following Saani Kaayidham will be seen in Tollywood in the likes of Sarkaru Vaari Paata in which she has shared the screen space with actor Mahesh Babu. Subsequently, she will be next be seen in the Malayalam drama Vaashi alongside actor Tovino Thomas. The actress is currently busy shooting for her Telugu ventures Bhola Shankar helmed by film makers Meher Ramesh and Dasara.
