Actor Dhanush K Raja was last seen on screen in Bollywood via the romantic flick Tere Ishk Mein directed by Aanand L Rai with actress Kriti Sanon as female lead. The Vada Chennai star will soon have his next release in the sociopolitical action thriller Kara. Story teller Vignesh Raja, who grabbed the audience’s attention with his work Por Thozhil, has crafted the drama. Writer Alfred Prakash has offered his assistance to mold the screenplay for the drama.
Actress Mamitha Baiju of Dude fame will be seen in the female lead part in the drama. The shoot for the flick took place across various locations in and around Ramanathapuram. Kara is poised to hit screens worldwide on 30th of April. The makers have already begun to promote the movie. As part of it, they had recently released the title teaser and first single from the film on social media. They have now unveiled the character portrayed by Mamitha Baiju in the flick.
Taking to her official X account, actress Mamitha Baiju herself shared a special poster of her character from Kara and captioned it, “SELLI from the world of Kara. Directed by Vignesh Raja. Mamitha Baiju Selli Kara Poster
The character introductory poster has a worried Mamitha Baiju draped in a maroon saree sitting in rays of sunlight that seep in to the room through a window. The title teaser of Kara showed actor Dhanush speaking about exonerating himself to defend his people and take them to a safe place.
Apart from Dhanush and Mamitha Baiju, the casting crew of the venture also has Malayalam actor Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kushmitha, M S Baskar, S Rajapandi, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Nithin Sathya, Sreeja Ravi, K S Ravikumar, and Karunas in various supporting roles.
Music director G V Prakash Kumar has been hired to manage the music department for the movie. Already a single titled ‘Vaaya Ey Karasaami’ in the vocals of Arunraja Kamaraj, Anthony Daasan, Satyan, & V M Mahalingam written by Arunraja Kamaraj is out from the album.
Cinematographer Theni Eswar ISC has been behind the lens for the flick. Editor Sreejith Sarang has been contracted to trim the entertainer. Art director Mayapandi has fashioned background for the drama. Stunt director Dinesh Kasi has engineered action moves for the movie. The venture is funded by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh and Kushmitha Ganesh under the production label Vels Film International.
On the work front, actor Dhanush K Raja is now working on his next project tentatively christened D 55 scripted by Rajkumar Periasamy in which he will be seen alongside Malayalam actor Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela. Beside this movie, the Idli Kadai actor has a series of films in his pipeline in D 56 crafted by Mari Selvaraj, Kalam: The Missile Man Of India helmed by Om Raut, Ilaiyaraaja directed by Arun Matheswaran, Pudhupettai 2 filmed by Selvaraghavan, Aayirathil Oruvan 2 also scripted by Selvaraghavan, and a couple of untitled projects under the directorial of Nelson Dilipkumar & H Vinoth in pre-production stages.
On the other hand, actress Mamitha Baiju is expecting the release of Vishwanath & Sons directed by Venky Atluri in which she has associated with actor Suriya, Irandu Vaanam crafted by Ram Kumar in which she has joined forces with actor Vishnu Vishal, and Jana Nayagan helmed by H Vinoth in which she has starred with actors Vijay, Pooja Hegde, & Bobby Deol. The actress is presently busy with two of her Malayalam movies Premalu 2 filmed by A D Girish in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Naslen & Mathew Thomas, and Bethlehem Kudumba Unit also scripted by A D Girish in which she will be romancing actor Nivin Pauly.
