Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyaar Trailer: A Rogue Cop With His Own Zany Way On Dealing Cases!

Actor Karthi lastly played a cameo part in the Telugu film Hit: The Third Case helmed by Sailesh Kolanu with actors Nani and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles. The Paiyaa actor is now getting ready for the release of his next Tamil Telugu bilingual action thriller Vaa Vaathiyaar. Annagaru Vastaru is the title of the Telugu version. Story teller Nalan Kumarasamy, who impressed audiences with his craft in Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum, has penned and directed the entertainer. 

Actresses Krithi Shetty of The Warriorr fame, and Shilpa Manjunath of Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum fame have essayed the female lead roles in the project. Vaa Vaathiyaar is scheduled to arrive in theaters worldwide on 12th of December. The makers have been actively promoting the film across all platforms by giving updates and dropping singles from the album. As part of it, they have now launched the trailer of the movie on social media. 

Taking to his official X timeline, actor Karthi himself shared a link to the trailer of Vaa Vaathiyaar and wrote, “Rathathin raththamana udanpirappukkale . . . very excited to present the trailer of Vaa Vaathiyaar. In Cinemas December 12! Vaa Vaathiyar Trailer. A Nalan Kumarasamy Entertainer. A Santhosh Narayanan Musical. Studio Green, Gnanavel Raja, Krithi Shetty, George C Williams, Think Music India, Prime Video IN.” Here is the post made by the star. 

Nearly two-and-a-half-minute long trailer of Vaa Vaathiyaar opens in a theater to a back shot of actor Karthi dressed as late revered actor and politician MGR on screens which is admired by veteran actor Rajkiran. Following which we have actor Sathyaraj whispering in someone’s ear, “Do not tell anyone.” The shot cuts to a politician reprimanding someone on a call, “Are you eating food or something else? Do you know what politics is?”

Subsequently we see actor Rajkiran advocating for Karthi with Sathyaraj, “He is not someone who commits crime. He is a different breed.” Then we have a cop complaining in court against Karthi, “In the name of rides, he is taking away the revenue that’s supposed to come to our station.” We are then presented with collages of romantic portions between the lead pair. The trailer ends with actor Karthi mouthing, “What did you do to me?” 

The casting crew of Vaa Vaathiyaar also includes actors Rajkiran, Ramesh Thilak, Karunakaran, G M Sundar, Anand Raj, Sathyaraj, Vadivukkarasi, P L Thenappan, Nivas Adhitan, Vidhya Borgia, and Madhur Mittal. Music composer Santhosh Narayanan has been contracted to score music for the venture. Three songs ‘Uyir Pathikaama’, ‘Aalapikkey Ummak’, and ‘Mu Dha La Li’ are already out from the album. 

Cinematographer George C Williams has worked on the cinematography division of the film. Editor Vetre Krishnan has been brought on board to edit the entertainer. Art director Kiran Drk has designed the background for the project. Stunt master ‘Anl’ Arasu has engineered action blocks for the flick. Vaa Vaathiyaar is produced by K E Gnanavel Raja and Neha Gnanavel Raja under their production house Studio Green. Amazon Prime Video has purchased the post theatrical rights of the venture. 

On the work front, actor Karthi is expecting the release of Sardar 2 scripted by P S Mithran in which he has teamed up with actresses Malavika Mohanan and Raashii Khanna. The Kaithi actor is occupied is his next drama Marshal directed by Thamizh in which he will be romancing actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Kaithi 2 helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in which he will be costarring with actors Arjun Das and Narain. 

On the other hand, actress Krithi Shetty has back-to-back release lined up in her pipeline in Love Insurance Kompany crafted by Vignesh Shivan in which she has collaborated with actors Pradeep Ranganathan & S J Suryah, and Genie directed by Bhuvanesh Arjunan in which she has performed alongside actors Ravi Mohan and Kalyani Priyadarshan.
