Actor Ram Arun Castro was last seen on screens in the suspense thriller film V1 Murder Case which hit the theaters under directorial director Pavel Navageethan with actress Vishnupriya in the female lead role. The entertainer opened to mixed reviews from critics and audiences. Hence, it could not draw much footfalls to the theaters. The actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his next movie christened Harkara. Besides acting, Ram Arun Castro has also written and directed the flick. Actor Kaali Venkat has played a vital part in the movie. The project which went on floors way back with a small pooja ceremony is now finally done and dusted ready to hit the screens.
The production house has now released the concept teaser of the movie on social media. Taking to their official twitter page, Think Music dropped a poster from the drama along with a link to the concept teaser of Harkara, and wrote, “Harkara an unsung hero! Nearly two and a half minutes odd concept teaser cut opens to a voiceover, “If you were defeated in your efforts and were struck in a circle of fate, even if society keeps discouraging you that you cannot do it, do not worry. What our ancestors did not have, we possess it now. It is a force that could connect 800 crores of people from the place we are in. The power of communication. Who was the starting point of the force that has the ability to change our lives in seconds. In 1854, for the first time in our country a man began to run shouldering the thoughts and dreams of ordinary people. Time has come to remember the man who was forgotten in history. Our nation’s first postman, Harkara.” The concept teaser looks refreshing, and has set high anticipation on the venture.
Speaking to a leading media house about the film, director and actor Ram Arun Castro said, “The name Harkara is a Bengal word meaning messenger. The drama is centered around the mail runners of India. The entertainer will unfold in two periods, 1860s and 2023. It narrates the tale of India’s first postman and juxtaposes that to the evolution of todays’ postman service. I have played a postman in the British colonial era, while Kaali Venkat has essayed the modern-day postman part.” Talking further, he added, “The only mode of communication then was through postal service. Postmen played a significant role in establishing the communication chain. Those days a postman had to be well-versed in geography, know how to swim, defend, and be multilingual.”
Apart from actors Kaali Venkat, and Ram Arun Castro, Harkara has actress Gowthami Chowdhry essaying the female lead part. The casting department of the venture has actors Nicolas Fuster, Jayaprakash, Pichaikaran Moorthy, and Radhakrishnan portraying various other supporting roles. Music director Ramshanker has composed music for the project. Cinematographers Philip R Sundar, and Lokesh Elangovan have shouldered cameras for the movie. Editor Dani Charles has been brought on board to trim the flick. Art director VRK Ramesh has erected sets for the entertainer. Action director Run Ravi has choreographed action blocks for the project. The drama is produced by N A Ramu and Saravanan Ponraj under the banner label Kalorful Beta Movement along with Arvind Dharmaraj under the production company Paradigm Pictures, along with Dheena for his home banner Dheena Productions.
On the work front, actor Kaali Venkat who was last seen on screens in Veeran is getting ready for the release of his next venture titled Kaadappura Kalaikuzhu filmed by Raja Gurusamy in which he has collaborated with actor Munishkanth. The actor is currently busy shooting for his upcoming flick christened Pizza 3 under the direction of director Mohan Govind in which he will be co starring with actors Ashwin Kakumanu, and Raveena Daha. Apart from this film, the actor has Titanic Kadhalum Kavundhu Pogum helmed by storyteller N Janakiram in which he has shared screen space with actors Kalaiyarasan, and Anandhi, and Echo crafted by filmmaker Nawin Ghanesh in which he will be seen alongside actors Srikanth, and Vidya Pradeep in different stages of post-production getting shaped for release.
