Actress Sshivada had her last outing in the romantic drama Theera Kaadhal which hit the screens under the direction of Rohin Venkatesan with actors Jai and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles. The entertainer was tagged with mixed reviews by critics and audiences. Despite that, it had a decent commercial run in the box office. The Vallavanukkum Vallavan actress has now put that behind her, and is gearing up for the release of her upcoming drama Idumbankaari in which she has portrayed the lead role. Actress Ramya Pandian who was last seen on screens in the comedy web series Accidental Farmer And Co has played a pivotal part in the movie. Debutant story teller Arul Ajit has directed the venture. Writer Vijayakumar has written the script of the film. The entertainer went on floors with a small pooja ceremony back in the year 2021. For reasons best known to the production team the project has been delayed for so long. But finally, is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage shaping up for release.
The production house has now released the teaser of the movie on social media. Music director Karthick Harsha has shared the teaser. Taking to his official twitter account, the musician dropped a poster from the entertainer, and wrote, “Happy to share Idumbankaari official teaser. A new rebellion has begun. Nearly one minute teaser video opens to a cordless phone ringing. Following which we witness actress Ramya Pandian gesticulating a countdown of one to three. The teaser has a message, ‘An invitation to revolt. The rebellion has begun. A new warrior is born.’ We have a scene where actress Sshivada and her team carry out a search in a building. Then we are presented with a shot of an attempt to murder on a person by means of asphyxiation by plastic bag. From the teaser one could gauge that a high-profile cybercrime has been perpetrated, and a dedicated team of police officials have been assigned to deal with the case. The teaser is completely dearth of dialogues. It has got the attention of the audience, and has engendered high expectations for the movie. The production unit is eyeing to bring the venture to theaters in the month of July. They are currently working on reserving a date. An official release date is expected to be announced soon.
Idumbankaari is billed as an investigative crime thriller film. Apart from actresses Sshivada, and Ramya Pandian, the casting department of the venture has actors Gopinath, Anupama Kumar, Abhishek Joseph, Velu Prabhakaran, Mano Bala, Jothi, G Gnanasambandam, and Arun in various other supporting parts. Music director Karthick Harsha has been roped in to score music for the movie. The cinematography division of the flick was handled by cinematographer Ameen. Editor Ignatious Ashwin has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the project. Art director SK has designed the background for the drama. Action director S Prabhakaran has choreographed action blocks for the flick. The project is funded by B T Arasakumar under the production company BTK Films along with C V Kumar under the banner house Thirukumaran Entertainment.
On the work front, actress Sshivada who was last seen on screens in the romantic drama Theera Kaadhal is currently getting ready for the release of her next Malayalam flick titled Secret Home directed by filmmaker Abhayakumar K in which she will be seen alongside actresses Aparna Das and Anu Mohan. On the other hand, actress Ramya Pandian who was last seen in the comedy web series Accidental Farmer And Co is currently busy shooting for her upcoming untitled project crafted by director Ganesh Vinayakan in which she will be sharing screen space with Bigg Boss fame actor Arav.
