Actor Arun Vijay was last seen on screens in the child drama Oh My God helmed by story teller Sarov Shanmugam which was released in the Amazon Prime Video OTT platform. The entertainer was praised with mixed reviews by the critics and audience alike. As a result, it could not clock a decent watch figure. Putting that aside, the Mafia: Chapter 1 star is now gearing up for the release of his next action venture christened Yaanai. The drama is all set to hit the screens on 17th of June this year. Actress Priya Bhavani Shankar has played the female lead role in the movie. Director Hari has helmed the drama. Now, the production house has dropped the trailer of the movie.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan has shared the trailer on social media. Taking to his official twitter handle the actor shared a link to the trailer, and wrote, “Happy to release the trailer of Yaanai. Best wishes to Arun Vijay brother director Hari sir & entire team for a big success.”
The two minutes odd cut, opens in a rural setting with the introduction of Arun Vijay carrying a garland. Then it plays a melodramatic song in the background with people on screen exhibiting a sense of sadness. While the first half of the trailer moves on an emotional tone, it changes gear with the introduction of its antagonist Ramachandra Raju, and gets into a violent action zone. We see actor Arun Vijay breaking the bones of henchmen. The trailer ends with a punch dialogue, “Odhungee ponna orasuveega, Padhingee ponna paiveega, samathana kodi yaethunalum atha pudungee aaruva la thaan kaetureenga.” Which roughly translates to, “If I go calm, you beleaguer; if I go meek, you attack; even if I hoist a peace flag, you remove and tie it to the blade.”
The film is high on emotion, sentiment, and action, a typical formula of director Hari. Comedy has gone missing. However, the trailer has fashioned great expectations amidst the fans of the director. Apart from actors Arun Vijay, and Priya Bhavani Shankar, the casting department of the flick has actors Prakash Raj, Samuthirakani, Ramachandra Raju, Radhika Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Pugazh, Thalaivasal Vijay, Aishwarya, Ammu Abhirami, Prema Priya, Rajesh, Imman Annachi, Jayabalan, and Rama essaying various other supporting roles. Music director musician G. V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music for the entertainer. Cinematographer S. Gopinath has been behind the lens for the drama. The editing department of the movie has been taken care of by editor Anthony. The project is produced by S Sakthivel and S Vijayan for the production house Drumstick Productions.
On the work front, actor Arun Vijay who was last seen in the OTT release Oh My God is currently busy shooting for his upcoming dramas titled Boxer helmed by director Vivek in which he will be romancing actress Ritika Singh, and for Sinam under the direction of film maker Kumaravelan in which he will be sharing the screen space with actress Palak Lalwani. Apart from these flicks, the actor has Agni Siragugal directed by film maker Naveen in which he has co starred with actress Akshara Haasan, and Borrder filmed by storyteller Arivazhagan Venkatachalam in which actress Regina Cassandra has played the female lead role, shaping up in the post production stage for release.
