First Move From Dhruv Vikram’s Jackie: No Retakes Allowed Is Here!
Actor Dhruv Vikram had a release last year in the sports action film Bison Kaalamaadan crafted by Mari Selvaraj with actress Anupama Parameswaran in the female lead role. The Mahaan actor is now busy shooting for his upcoming action thriller flick christened Jackie: No Retakes Allowed. Debutant story teller Karan Arvind Kumar, who previously served as a co-writer and assistant director to RJ Balaji on Karuppu, is directing the venture. He has co-written the story of the movie with writer Sabari Nath.
The production team has yet to finalize the female lead for the project. Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor and Kannada actress Satvika are rumored to be in the race to play the leading lady in the film. The shoot for the venture is currently underway in full swing in Chennai. The production house has planned to wrap up the shoot for the movie by the end this year. Meanwhile, they have now released the first look poster along with a first move promo video on social media.
Taking to their official X handle, team of Mythri Movie Makers shared both Tamil & English version of the first look poster along with a link to the first move video of Jackie: No Retakes Allowed and captioned it, “Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet Jackie and the madness he brings to the sets. First move promo out now! Flying soon. Dhruv is JACKIE. Directed by Karan Arvind Kumar. A Santhosh Narayanan musical. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers. The four minutes odd first movie video of Jackie: No Retakes Allowed opens to a director requesting his lead hero, “Sir, if you do this yourself, it will look kickass.” He responds, “Wow. But I cannot do it.” He asks him, “Why, sir? What is wrong?” He responds, “No, I do not get it. Why should I risk my life for a stunt? I cannot do this.” The director turns to his stunt master and asks him, “What did you even tell him, master?”
The stunt master informs him, “Nothing much, sir. About fifty goons from the villain’s gang charge in, sir. And our hero charges towards them. That’s it, sir.” A shocked director asks, “That’s it?” The lead hero intrudes, “What if I trip and wreck my handsome face? Who is going to answer my fans? See, I am out of breath already.” The shot cuts to the director cribbing about the hero, “Damn. He will not even break a sweat. How the hell do his movies still work?”
The stunt master asks him, “Forget that, sir. What do we do now? Tell me.” The director tells him, “We have got no choice. Being in the dupe.” Then, a woman advises Dhruv Vikram over a call, “Baby, you broke both your arms and legs last time. Watch your back this time.” He tells her, “I have got this. Now give me a kiss.” She does, and says, “Alright, now it is your turn.” He cuts the call by saying, “Too late, baby. I have got to go.”
The scene shifts to the shooting spot where the director asks his stunt director, “So, master, will he be able to pull this off?” He quips, “Sir, have you seen the film Bison? He was the hero’s dupe in that film. Number one stuntman in cinema today.” Then, we learn there is a mix up and the fighters in the stunt sequence are real henchmen who are after Dhruv Vikram. The video ends with a group of hooligans charging at Dhruv Vikram, who lunges forward to meet them with a flying punch.
Jackie: No Retakes Allowed is hyped to be a high-octane action film that features actor Dhruv Vikram playing a fearless stunt double. Apart from Dhruv Vikram, the casting team of Jackie: No Retakes Allowed also has actors Prudhvi Raj, Sai Dheena, Arunachaleshwaran Pa, Prithvi Pandiarajan, and Manikandan playing various supporting characters. Music director Santhosh Narayanan has been brought on board to compose music for the film.
Cinematographer Viki is overseeing the cinematography department of the movie. Editor Jayasuriya S has been bestowed with the responsibility to bring coherence to the drama. Art director G M Sekhar is erecting sets for the project. Action director Vikram Mor is engineering action blocks in the flick. Jackie: No Retakes Allowed is backed by Naveen Yerneni along with Y Ravi Shankar under the production label Mythri Movie Makers.
On the work side, actor Dhruv Vikram is simultaneously shooting for his next untitled project directed by story teller Deepak Reddy in which he will be sharing screen space with actresses Rukmini Vasanth & Ketika Sharma.
