Vishnu Vishal’s ‘Irandu Vaanam’ Secures A Date For Release!

Actor Vishnu Vishal is fresh off the success of his sports comedy movie Gatta Kusthi 2 directed by Chella Ayyavu with actress Aishwarya Lekshmi in the female lead role. The Lal Salaam actor will soon have his next outing via the upcoming romantic fantasy film Irandu Vaanam. Director Ram Kumar, who previously directed actor Vishnu Vishal in Mundasupatti and Ratsasan, has inked and helmed the drama. 

Actress Mamitha Baiju of Dude fame has portrayed the female lead role in the flick. Principal photography for Irandu Vaanam took place mainly in Kodaikanal over a period of 150 days. The production house has been promoting the film by releasing the first look poster and a single from the album. We now have news that the movie will be releasing in theaters worldwide on 23rd of October. The makers themselves have announced the news on social media. 

Taking to their official X handle, the team of Sathya Jyothi Films dropped a release date announcement video for Irandu Vaanam and wrote, “Love in its purest, intense form. Irandu Vaanam in theatres worldwide from 23rd October 2026. A film by Ram Kumar. Starring Vishnu Vishal, Mamitha Baiju. A Dhibu Ninan Thomas musical. Sathya Jyothi Films, Arjun Thyagarajan, Dinesh K Babu, San Lokesh, A Gopi Anand, Parthiban Sattanathan, Sai Siddharth, Vicky, AIM Pro, Saregama South, The Mug, Two Skies.” Here is the post made by the production house. 

The one-minute odd release date announcement video of Irandu Vaanam opens with individuals repeating Mundasupatti and Ratsasan. Then, we have a note, ‘Two films. Two worlds. Now . . . Another world. A beautiful emotion. Between two intense people.’ The shot cuts to Vishnu Vishal’s intro, before panning out to a wide landscape that frames his back as he sits in the meadow. Subsequently, we are introduced to actress Mamitha Baiju. The video ends with actor Vishnu Vishal saying, “Whatever happens to me, I will come in search of you, Kayal.”

The first look poster of the project, which was released earlier, featured actor Dan seated on a cloud, looking towards a reversed portrait of actress Pinky. Director Ram Kumar is returning to Kollywood nearly eight years after his 2018 smash hit, Ratsasan. Consequently, expectations for the project are quite high. 

The production unit is tightlipped about the rest of the actors that would round out the cast. An official list of artists in the movie is expected to be publicized soon. Music director Dhibu Ninan Thomas has orchestrated the musical score for the movie. Already a single ‘Vellichudare’ in the vocals of Kapil Kapilan lyrics written by Madrashe, is out from the album. Cinematographer Dinesh K Babu has overseen the visuals and camera division for the drama. 

Editor San Lokesh has been trusted with the editing division of the flick. Art director A Gopi Anand has built sets for the entertainer. Stunt director Vicky has choreographed action blocks in the venture. Irandu Vaanam is funded by Sendhil Thyagarajan, T G Thyagarajan, and Arjun Thyagarajan under the production studio Sathya Jyothi Films. 

On the work side, actor Vishnu Vishal is awaiting the release of his long-delayed ventures Mohan Das created by Murali Karthick in which he has joined forces with actress Aishwarya Rajesh, and Idam Porul Yaeval scripted by Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be seen alongside actors Vijay Sethupathi & Aishwarya Rajesh. The Kathanayagan actor is presently engaged in his future project provisionally christened Production 27 filmed by Sathish Selvakumar, and a couple of his untitled films under the direction of Gokul & Arunraja Kamaraj. 

On the other hand, actress Mamitha Baiju is currently busy shooting for her next Tamil flick tentatively titled PRS 01 crafted by Giriprasath, Ilamparithi, & The Alpha Unit in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Ashwath Marimuthu & Swasika Vijay, and an untitled Malayalam project under the directorial of Dinoy Poulose in which she will be teaming up with actors Sangeeth Prathap & Advaith Ajay.
