It Is A Wrap For Vijay Sethupathi’s Pocket Novel!

Actor Vijay Sethupathi recently had a release in the comedy drama Baththa scripted by Balaji Tharaneetharan with actress Lijomol Jose in the female lead role. The Thalaivan Thalaivii actor is currently busy shooting for his next film titled Pocket Novel. Story teller Thiagarajan Kumararaja, who bagged the National Film Award for his critically acclaimed neo noir debut movie Aaranya Kaandam, is directing the drama. He has co-written the story of the film with writer Andrew Louis.  

Actress Malavika Mohanan of Sardar 2 fame will be seen in the female lead role in the entertainer. Actors Kishore and Raj B Shetty will be seen in prominent roles in the flick. The shoot for the project was underway in full swing. We now have news that the shoot for the venture has been wrapped. The production house itself has revealed the news on social media along with a shoot wrap video. 

Taking to his official X timeline, actor Vijay Sethupathi himself shared a shoot wrap video for Pocket Novel and captioned it, “Here’s the update you’ve been asking for – it’s finally a wrap! Pocket Novel. More updates coming your way soon! The one-minute odd shoot wrap video for Pocket Novel begins by presenting director Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s filmography. Then, we get glimpses of behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot. In a shot, director Thiagarajan Kumararaja is seen telling someone, “It is not like you think.” Subsequently, we see actors Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika Mohanan pointing a water gun at the camera, and the actress says, “This is an opaque shot.” 

Following which, we have actor Raj B Shetty quipping to Thiagarajan Kumararaja, “Sir, anything you tell me is a very hard thing to change.” The video ends with the whole team assembled and Vijay Sethupathi shouting, “Pocket Novel.” The crowd chants, “Pack up.” 

The production unit is tightlipped about the rest of the actors that would round out the cast. An official list of artists in the movie is expected to be publicized soon. On the technical side, music composer G V Prakash Kumar has been trusted with the musical department of the movie. The entertainer marks the first collaboration of G V Prakash Kumar and Vijay Sethupathi.  

Cinematographer Nirav Shah has taken care of the cinematography division of the drama. Editor Sathyaraj Natarajan has been brought on board to chop and patch the flick. Art director Raja has designed the background for the venture. Stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed action blocks in the project. Pocket Novel is bankrolled by Thiagarajan Kumararaja along with S D Ezhilmathy under the production studio Tyler Durden And Kino Fist. 

On the work front, actor Vijay Sethupathi will soon be seen in a cameo role in Jailer 2 filmed by Nelson Dilipkumar in which he has teamed up with actors Rajinikanth & S J Suryah, Inji Vellam created by Mani Ratnam in which he has partnered with actress Sai Pallavi, Train helmed by Mysskin in which he has collaborated with actress Shruthi Haasan, Pisasu 2 also crafted by Mysskin in which he has joined forces with actresses Andrea Jeremiah & Poorna, and a Telugu drama SlumDog: 33 Temple Road directed by Puri Jagannadh in which he will be seen alongside actress Wamiqa Gabbi. The Maharaja actor is now engaged in his future movie Arasan scripted by Vetrimaaran in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Silambarasan & Andrea Jeremiah.
