Actor Vemal had his last outing in the action entertainer Mahasenha helmed by story teller Dhinesh Kalaiselvan with actress Srushti Dange in the female lead role. The Desingu Raja star is now gearing up for the release of yet another rural film in his career titled Vadam. Debutant director V Kenthiran has written and directed the venture. Writer Gnanakaravel has written dialogues for the movie.
Small screen actress Sangeetha Kalyankumar of Mangalya Sandhosham tv serial fame will make her debut in silver screens with her female lead role in the project. Actor Natarajan Subramaniam will be seen in a pivotal role in the venture. The film which went on floors in Chennai has been wrapped, and is now in the post production stage. The production house is planning to release the flick as a festive release for Pongal next year. An official announcement regarding the same is expected to be made soon.
The makers have now shared the first look poster of the movie on social media. Taking to his official X profile, musician D Imman unveiled a special poster from the flick and worded, “From the land we live on, of the people we belong to. This is our pride. Vadam First Look Poster
The special poster dropped by D Imman has actors Vemal and Natarajan Subramaniam standing beside bulls facing each other. Vadam is touted to be a rural sports drama based on the traditional sport of Vada Manjuvirattu. The sport is identical to Jallikattu (bull taming) where contestants compete to tame a bull within a given time span.
Apart from Vemal, Natarajan Subramaniam, and Sangeetha Kalyankumar, the casting unit of the drama also has actors Bala Saravanan, Karunakaran, Dwivika, Yogi Babu, Vijay Siyon, John Vijay, Shubhangi Jha, and Mahima Gupta in various supporting roles. Music director D Imman has been brought on board to oversee the musical department of the flick. He is collaborating with actor Vemal for the third time following their well-received albums in Desingu Raja and Oru Oorula Rendu Raja.
Cinematographer Prasanna S Kumar has worked on the cinematography division of the entertainer. Editor Sabu Joseph has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the drama. Art director V Sasikumar has designed the background for the project. Action master G N Murugan has fashioned action blocks for the film. The venture is funded by R Veerasekar under the banner house Masani Pictures.
On the work front, actor Vemal is currently occupied in his next project Vemal 39 scripted by story tellers Elson Eldhose & Maneesh K Thoppil, Manjal Kudai crafted by director Sivam Rajamani in which he will be performing alongside actress Shirin Kanchwala, and Belladonna helmed by Santhosh Babu Muthusamy.
Apart from these ventures, the Paramasivan Fathima actor has a handful of his long-delayed flicks Galatta Family helmed by director Sargunam in which he has shared screen space with actress Meera Krishnan, Enga Pattan Sothu also crafted by Sargunam in which he will be seen alongside actress Anicka Vikhraman, Sandakkari scripted by Madhesh in which he has romanced actress Shriya Saran, and Lucky crafted by story teller Pandiyaraj waiting for a release date.
