Actor Sathish was last seen on screens in a supporting part in Kannai Nambathey which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Mu Maran with actors Udhayanidhi Stalin and Aathmika in the lead roles. The movie did not live up to the expectations of the audience. Thus, it could not draw much footfalls to the theaters. The Oh My Ghost actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his upcoming drama christened Vithaikkaaran in which he has essayed the lead role. Actress Simran Gupta of Sarkar fame has played the female lead part in the flick. Film maker Venki has written and directed the entertainer. The venture which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony some time ago is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage shaping up for release.
The production house has now released the teaser of the drama on social media. Actor Sathish himself has shared the teaser. Taking to his official twitter account, the actor dropped a poster from the film along with a link to the teaser of Vithaikkaaran and wrote, “Vithaikkaaran teaser. Nearly two minute long teaser cut opens to a father saying to his two children, “If there is a thing in the world for which people willingly and happily pay to get deceived, it is for magic.” One of the kids asks, “Isn’t cheating wrong?” Following which we are presented with a series of criminal activities. Then we have a scene where actress Simran Gupta asks Sathish, “Do you have any idea about smuggling?” The shot cuts to the other kid replying, “To get cheated is wrong. Cheating is not.” Then we have a character instructing an airport clearing officer, “A staff of ours wearing a red cap will walk outside. As usual, send him out without a security check.” We then witness actor Sathish on a phone call saying, “Singh? Diamond? Locker room?” Following which we have a shot of a character reprimanding his henchman, “Do you know the value of the item?” Then we have a voiceover, “25 crores worth of diamonds. It has been struck in our district.” The teaser ends with a character asking his boss, “I have a skilled man who will steal in a flying plane. Airport locker room is not a thing for him. Shall I ask him to come?” The teaser has enjoyed a decent reception among the audience, and has set high expectations on the drama. An official announcement regarding the release date of the film is expected to be made soon.
Apart from actors Sathish, and Simran Gupta, the casting division of the movie has actors Anandraj, Madhusudhan, Subramaniam Siva, John Vijay, Pavel Navageethan, and Japan Kumar in various other supporting roles. The musical department of the film has been handed over to music director VBR. Cinematographer Yuva Karthick has been behind camera for the movie. Editor Arul Elango Siddharth has been roped in to edit the entertainer. Art director G Durairaj has designed the background for the venture. Stunt master Stunner Sam has choreographed action blocks for the project. The flick is funded by K Vijay Pandi along with R Murali Krishnan for the production label White Carpet Films.
On the other hand, actor Sathish who had his last outing in Kannai Nambathey is currently busy shooting for his next venture titled Soorpanagai crafted by filmmaker Caarthik Raju in which he will play the sidekick of actress Regina Cassandra. Apart from this project, the actor has 4G helmed by story teller Venkat Pakkar in which he will be seen alongside actor G V Prakash Kumar, and Aayiram Jenmangal filmed by director Ezhil in which he has shared screen space with actors G V Prakash Kumar, Nikesha Patel, and Eesha Rebba in the box waiting to see the light of day.
