Actor Silambarasan had his last outing in the neo noir gangster film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which hit the theaters under the direction of story teller Gautham Vasudev Menon with actress Siddhi Idnani as the female lead. The movie hit the screens amid high expectations. Unfortunately, it could not live up to the expectations of the audience. Thus, left the theaters unnoticed. Actor Gautham Karthik was last seen on screens in the action-film Yutha Satham crafted by Ezhil with actor Parthiban in the lead. The flick failed to get the attention of the audience. Now, both the actors have collaborated for their next venture titled Pathu Thala. The project is written and directed by filmmaker Obeli N Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame. The entertainer which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a long while back, is now done and dusted ready for release.
Now, the production house has released the teaser of Pathu Thala on social media along with its release date. Pathu Thala is slated to hit the screens on 30th of March this year. Taking to their official twitter page, the production unit dropped the teaser of Pathu Thala and wrote, “Here’s the moment! The thundering arrival of AGR. One-and-a-half-minute teaser cut opens to a voiceover of actor Silambarasan, “Everyone knows that Kumari Kandam where three rivers meet is under the rule of AG Raavana. Limit is for those who rule the land. Not for those who take the sand. I have climbed the stairs to come to the top. I have climbed over my enemies. There is no count to how many people died or made a living because of me.”
Pathu Thala is the official remake of superhit Kannada drama Mufti crafted by Narthan with actor Shiva Rajkumar in the lead role. Apart from actors Silambarasan and Gautham Karthik, Pathu Thala has actress Priya Bhavani Shankar depicting the female lead role. The casting department of the project has actors Kalaiyarasan of Madras fame, Umesh Kaushik, Anu Sithara, Akshay Sharma, Tejeenthan Arunasalam, Joe Malloori, Dheeraj Kher, Manushiyaputhiran, and Soundararaja playing various other supporting roles. Music director A R Rahman has scored music for the flick. Cinematographer S R Kathir has cranked the camera for the drama. Editor Boopathi Selvaraj has handled the editing division of the venture. Art director Milan has designed the background for the movie. Action director R Sakthi Saravanan has choreographed action moves for the project. The drama is bankrolled by K E Gnanavel Raja along with Jayantilal Gada under the production company Studio Green.
On the work front, actor Silambarasan who was last seen on screens in the crime drama Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will soon begin to shoot for his next movie titled Corona Kumar which is set to be helmed by director Gokul. There are also talks of a potential collaboration between the actor and directors Sudha Kongara, and A R Murugadoss. Actor Gautham Karthik who had his last outing in the action thriller Yutha Satham is currently busy shooting for his upcoming movie August 16 1947 filmed by N S Ponkumar in which he will be seen alongside debutant actress Revathy.
On the other hand, actress Priya Bhavani Shankar who had her last outing in the movie Thiruchitrambalam is currently busy shooting for the sequel of Indian directed by Shankar in which she will be co starring with actor Kamal Hassan, for her debut untitled Telugu venture scripted by Eashvar Karthic in which she will be seen alongside actor Satya Dev, and for a Telugu web series Dootha directed by Vikram Kumar in which she will be collaborating with actors Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, and Parvathy Thiruvothu. Apart from these projects, the actress has Agilan helmed by N Kalyanakrishnan with actor Jayam Ravi in the lead, Bommai filmed by Radha Mohan in which she has shared the screen space with actor S J Surya, and Rudhran helmed by S Kathiresan in which she has romanced actor Raghava Lawrence in various stages of post-production getting refined for release.
