Actor Ravi Mohan lastly entertained audiences in the action drama Parasakthi crafted by Sudha Kongara with actors Sivakarthikeyan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela in lead roles. The Kadhalikka Neramillai actor is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming political film Karathey Babu. Director Ganesh K Babu, who made a good impression with his debut movie Dada, has inked the flick. Writers Bakkiyam Sankar and Rathna Kumar have written the story for the venture.
Daudee S Jiwal, model and daughter of former Tamil Nadu DGP Shankar Jiwal, is set to make her debut in Tamil cinema with her female lead role in the entertainer. Actor Shakthi Vasudevan is said to have played the antagonist part in the film. We had earlier reported that actor Ravi Mohan has begun to dub for his part. The makers have now released the teaser of the project on social media.

The two minutes teaser of Karathey Babu opens with a politician accusing the opposition in assembly, “Our leader is not the one who turned the corrupt from a minority into the majority. It was your late leader.” To which the opposition leader says, “Stop it! You are humiliating him. How dare you speak ill of our leader? Are you insulting him? You are humiliating our former CM who is no longer alive.”
Things get heated with the announcement of elections. In a shot we see actor Kaali Venkat telling someone, “Do you know about Babu? I do.” Subsequently we have actor Ravi Mohan mouthing, “Politics is just your livelihood. But it is my job.” The teaser ends with him in police custody.
Earlier speaking to a leading YouTube channel about his character in Karathey Babu, actor Ravi Mohan stated, “I attempt to do something different with each role that I pick. My part in the film will be quite different from what people have seen me do so far. My director Ganesh K Babu is an excellent story teller. You will see that in the movie. I am sure Karathey Babu will be one of the most important projects in my career.”
The ensemble cast of Karathey Babu also includes actors Nassar, Kaali Venkat, Subramaniam Siva, Pradeep Antony, VTV Ganesh, Sam Anderson, K S Ravikumar, Kavithalayaa Krishnan, Ajith Gosh, Raja Rani Pandian, Anandhi, Knife Naren, Sandeep Raj, Sindhupriya, Aravindh, Vetrivel, Sri Dhanya, Nandhini Senthamizh, Kalki Raja, and Ilan.
Music director Sam C S has composed music for the flick. This is his third association with actor Ravi Mohan after their collaboration in Adanga Maru and Agilan. Cinematographer K Ezhil Arasu has handled camera gears for the drama.
Editor Kathiresh Alagesan has been brought on board to edit the movie. Art director A R Mohan has engineered the background for the project. Stunt master Hari Dinesh has designed action moves for the venture. Karathey Babu is backed by Sundar Arumugam under the banner house Screen Scene Media Entertainment.
On the professional side, actor Ravi Mohan will soon have his next release in the fantasy comedy film Genie helmed by director Bhuvanesh Arjunan in which he has featured alongside actresses Krithi Shetty and Kalyani Priyadarshan. The Brother actor is busy with his next flick Bro Code directed by Karthik Yogi in which he will be teaming up with actress Sri Gouri Priya, and Thani Oruvan 2 crafted by Mohan Raja in which he will once again be seen alongside actress Nayanthara.
