Actor Soori had a release earlier this year in the comedy entertainer Badava crafted by storyteller K V Nandha with actors Vemal and Shrita Rao in lead roles. The Kottukkaali star is now getting ready for the release of his next action movie titled Maaman. Director Prasanth Pandiyaraj, who delivered projects like Bruce Lee and web series Vilangu, has penned and directed the entertainer. Actress Aishwarya Lekshmi of Jagame Thandhiram fame has portrayed the female lead role in the flick. Veteran actor Rajkiran will be seen in a pivotal part in the drama. Maaman is poised to hit the screens worldwide on 16th of May. The production house had recently dropped behind the scene clip from the drama on social media. They have now shared the trailer of the film. Taking to his official X account, actor Soori himself unveiled a couple of special posters along with a link to the trailer of Maaman and wrote, “என்ன பெத்தாரு…. மாமன் வர்ரேன் டா . . . Three minute trailer of Maaman begins with a poignant scene where actor Soori wakes his pregnant sister and tells her, “Sister, wake up, wake up. Your baby has formed ears. He can hear us talking right now. Only I will talk to him. My dear dad . . . The first face you will see when you are born will be your uncle’s. I am going to be the one who bathes you. I am going to be the one who powders you. I will never even let a fly or an ant get close to you. You have caring parents. Grandparents are there to shower their love on you. A beautiful aunt to raise you with love and teach you good values. And an uncle who would move mountains for you if you asked. And yeah, even more relatives who will love you a ton. My dear dad . . . The casting crew of Maaman also features actors Bala Saravanan, Baba Bhaskar, Jaya Prakash, Geetha Kailasam, Swasika, Nikhila Shankar, Viji Chandrasekhar, Master Prageeth Sivan, Chaya Devi, Kalaivani Bhaskar, Rail Ravi, Melvin, Saratha, Umesh Kanth, Savithri, Tamilselvi, and Trichy Ananthi. Music composer Hesham Abdul Wahab has handled musical instruments for the movie. Cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman has operated camera gears for the venture. Editor V Ganesh Siva has been roped in to oversee the editing department of the project. Art director G Durai Raj has engineered sets for the venture. Stunt master Mahesh Mathew has fashioned action moves for the drama. Maaman is bankrolled by K Kumar under the production house Lark Studios. Rasi Chidambaram will be releasing the drama in Tamil Nadu under the production label Sri Kumaran Films.
On the work front, actor Soori is keenly anticipating the release of his next drama Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai crafted by Ram in which he has collaborated with actors Nivin Pauly and Anjali. The Garudan actor is presently engaged in his upcoming flick Mandaadi directed by Mathimaran Pugazhenthi in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Mahima Nambiar. On the other hand, actress Aishwarya Lekshmi is awaiting the release of her next project Thug Life scripted by Mani Ratnam in which she has co starred with actors Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan, and Trisha Krishnan. The Captain actress is currently busy shooting for her upcoming Telugu movie SYG – Sambarala Yeti Gattu helmed by K P Rohith in which she will be partnering with actor Sai Durgha Tej.
