Actor Kamal Haasan was last seen on screens in the vigilante action drama Indian 2 helmed by Shankar. Actor Silambarasan lastly entertained audience in the neo noir action thriller Pathu Thala directed by Obeli N Krishna with actress Priya Bhavani Shankar as female lead. Both the stars will soon be gracing the silver screens together in the upcoming gangster action movie titled Thug Life. Director Mani Ratnam has directed the entertainer. He has co written the film with actor Kamal Haasan. Actress Trisha Krishnan has been paired with the actor in the film. Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra will make her debut in Tamil cinema as one of the female-leads in the movie. The entertainer has been shot in and around the vicinities of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Pondicherry, New Delhi, and Siberia. Thug Life is slated to release in theaters worldwide on 5th of June.
The production house has now unveiled the first single from the movie on social media. Taking to their official X handle, the production team of Raaj Kamal Films International shared a special poster along with a link to the first single ‘Jinguchaa’ from Thug Life and wrote, “Jinguchaa Out Now. Singers Vaishali Samant, Shakthisree Gopalan, and Adithya R K have sung the track. Oscar recipient A R Rahman has handled the musical department of the drama. Actor Kamal Haasan has penned the lyrics of the number. The track is mixed by Nakul Abhyankar and mastered by Suresh Permal. Beside Kamal Haasan, Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, and Sanya Malhotra, the casting unit of Thug Life also includes actors Ashok Selvan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Nassar, Pankaj Tripathi, Tanikella Bharani, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, Mahesh Manjrekar, Vadivukarasi, Chinni Jayanth, Bagavathi Perumal, Ali Fazal, Vaiyapuri, Baburaj, Nithya Shree, Chetan, Srikanth Menon, Rohit Saraf, and Rajshri Deshpande.
Cinematographer Ravi K Chandran has taken care of the cinematography division of the movie. Editor A Sreekar Prasad has been brought onboard to bring coherence to the drama. Art director R Saravana Abiraman has designed the background for the film. Stunt masters Anbu and Arivu have choreographed action blocks for the flick. Thug Life is backed by Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran under the production company Raaj Kamal Films International partnering with Mani Ratnam and Siva Ananth for the production house Madras Talkies in association with Udhayanidhi Stalin for his banner house Red Giant Movies. Netflix OTT streaming platform has obtained the digital rights of the film for a whooping price of INR 149.7 crore.
On the work front, actor Kamal Haasan will soon have his next release in the vigilante action thriller flick Indian 3 crafted by director Shankar. The ensemble cast of the drama has actors Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, S J Suryah, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, and Bobby Simha. On the other hand, actor Silambarasan is currently engaged in his upcoming projects God Of Love directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, a venture tentatively titled STR 49 scripted by Ramkumar Balakrishnan in which he will be romancing actress Sai Pallavi, and another project tentatively christened STR 50 filmed by Desingu Periyasamy.
