Actor Vikram Prabhu had his last outing in the Tamil Telugu bilingual flick Ghaati scripted by Krish Jagarlamudi with actress Anushka Shetty in the lead role. The Love Marriage actor is now getting ready for the release of his next crime thriller Sirai. Debutant director Suresh Rajakumari, erstwhile associate of auteur Vetri Maaran, has crafted the venture. Director Tamil Arasan, who already worked with Vikram Prabhu in Taanakkaran, has written the story of the drama.
Model Ananda Thambirajah will open her books in Kollywood with her female lead role in the flick. Malayalam actress Anishma Anilkumar and L K Akshay Kumar will also be making their debut with pivotal roles in the project. The production house has already announced that the venture will be hitting theaters worldwide on 25th of December. The trailer launch event of the drama recently took place in Coimbatore. They have now released the trailer on social media.
Taking to their official X account, the team of Seven Screen Studios shared a few pics from the trailer launch event along with a link to the trailer of Sirai and wrote, “Thank you GRD college, Coimbatore for hosting Sirai Trailer launch. The two minute trailer of Sirai begins with Vikram Prabhu being put in charge to present a murder accused in court. Midway the suspect pleads with him, “Sir, could you please do me a favor? Please do not handcuff me while taking me to court tomorrow.” He responds sternly, “Listen, if you commit a murder, you will be handcuffed and dragged through the streets. You should have thought about it before committing a murder. Shut up and sleep.”
The accused escapes from their custody. When the team headed by Vikram Prabhu reports the news to their higher official, he reprimands them, “Idiotic morons! What the hell were you doing while he was escaping? If you are careless and gaping at someone of course he will escape.” In a scene we witness Vikram Prabhu losing his cool and lashing out at his team, “He freaking escaped with the duty rifle. If we do not find him, we three will be locked up in prison.”
Earlier talking to a news media, Suresh Rajakumari divulged, “Sirai is based on a real-life story that our writer Tamil Arasan experienced while he was working as a cop. Let me make one thing clear, this will not be the larger-than-life cop character.”
Further adding he revealed, “The cop character is rooted in reality. He understands the police system well, and knows how cruel it can be to people. He will not be stern and inhumane but at the same time he will not be a revolutionary either. It is a character like you and me that does not want to stand out alone, rather wants to be within the system yet fight to retain the human characteristics.”
Casting crew of Sirai also comprises actors Ragu Esaki, S Rajapandi, Harishankar Narayanan, Sushmitha Bhat, and Wenugopal Kesavan. Music director Justin Prabhakaran has composed music for the film. Already a song ‘Mannichiru’ sung by Sathya Prakash & Aanandi Joshi in the lyrics of Justin Prabhakaran is already out from the album. Cinematographer Madhesh Manickam has shouldered camera for the flick.
Editor Philomin Raj has been handed the editing responsibilities. Art director Amaran has engineered sets for the project. Action director Prabhu Chandrasekar has fashioned action moves for the flick. Sirai is produced by S S Lalit Kumar in association with Vishnu Kumar under the production house Seven Screen Studios.
On the work front, actor Vikram Prabhu is now occupied in his future venture Rathamum Sadhaiyum filmed by Harendhar Balachandar, Pagaiye Kathiru crafted by Manivel in which he will be costarring with actresses Smruthi Venkat & Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and an untitled flick directed by Ramesh Ravichandran in which he will be collaborating with actress Eesha Rebba.
