Shruti Haasan Opens Up On Working With Rajinikanth In Coolie!

Actress Shruti Haasan was last seen on screens in the epic neo noir action thriller Telugu film Salaar: Ceasefire Part I directed by Prashanth Neel. The entertainer had an ensemble cast of actors like Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Bobby Simha, Ramachandra Raju, and Easwari Rao. It had a great run in the box office. The Putham Pudhu Kaalai actress is now getting ready for the release of one of the most hyped entertainers of the year, Coolie, in which she has performed alongside actor Rajinikanth.

Story teller Lokesh Kanagaraj has directed superstar Rajinikanth in the flick for the first time in his career. Writer Chandhru Anbazhagan has inked dialogues, and assisted in fashioning the story of the movie. Veteran actor Sathyaraj is said to have depicted the antagonist part in the project. Coolie was shot in and around the surroundings of Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Jaipur, and Bangkok. The shoot for the venture was wrapped a couple of month ago, and the post production works for the film are underway in full swing.

Coolie is slated to hit theaters on 14th of August this year in languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Actress Shruti Haasan recently sat down for an interview with a leading daily. In the interview she has shared her experience on working with superstar Rajinikanth. Talking about it she said, “Until Coolie my interactions with Rajini sir was minimal to just cordial formalities. I never really knew him that well. It was a good experience working with him in the film.” Speaking about one of the things she admired about him, she stated, “Every artist needs to be appreciated to stay motivated. When his costars perform well, he would appreciate them without any hesitation.

Receiving recognition from a star in such tall stature goes a long way for an artist.” The ensemble star cast of the movie also has Kannada superstar Upendra, Tollywood superstar Nagarjuna, Monisha Blessy, Soubin Shahir, Reba Monica John, and Junior MGR portraying various supporting characters. Actress Pooja Hegde will be seen shaking a leg for an item number. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has played a cameo role in the flick. 

Music director Anirudh Ravichander is once again collaborating with actor Rajinikanth for the fifth time following their chartbusters in Petta, Darbar, Jailer, and Vettaiyan. A track christened ‘Coolie Disco’, tease of ‘Chikitu Vibe’ in the voice of T Rajendar, Anirudh Ravichander, Arivu, and Ajay Krishna, and ‘Powerhouse Vibe’ in the vocals of Anirudh Ravichander and Arivu, are already out from the album. Cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, who worked with director Lokesh Kanagaraj in Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, has also operated camera for this venture. Editor Philomin Raj has been signed in to oversee the editing division of the entertainer. Art director P Shanmugam has fashioned background for the drama. Stunt masters Anbu and Arivu have designed action moves for the movie. The project is backed by Kalanithi Maran for his production banner Sun Pictures. 

On the professional front, actor Rajinikanth is currently in the sets of story teller Nelson Dilipkumar to shoot for the sequel of Jailer in which he will be sharing screen space with actors S J Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa Menon, and Yogi Babu. On the other hand, actress Shruti Haasan is awaiting the release of her upcoming flick Train helmed by Mysskin in which she has teamed up with actor Vijay Sethupathi. The Singam 3 actress is presently working on her future projects Jana Nayagan filmed by H Vinoth in which she will be featuring alongside actors Vijay & Pooja Hegde, and Salaar: Shouryanga Parvam Part 2 directed by Prashanth Neel in which she will once again be joining force with actor Prabhas.
