Actor Richard Rishi had his last outing in the mystery thriller Sila Nodigalil helmed by story teller Vinay Bharadwaj with actresses Punnagai Poo Gheetha and Yashika Aannand as female leads. Actor Natarajan Subramaniam lastly entertained audiences in the comedy venture Kambi Katna Kathai crafted by Rajanathan Periyasamy. Both the stars will soon be seen together on screens in the historical drama Draupathi 2.
Director Mohan G, who directed the first installment of the franchise has helmed the second part as well. He has co-written the entertainer with writer Padma Chandrasekhar. Short film actress Rakshana Induchoodan will make her debut in Tamil cinema with her female lead role in the drama. The second part is said to be a standalone film. The makers have already announced that the project will hit theaters on 15th of January. They have now dropped the trailer of the movie on social media.
Taking to their official X profile, the media team of Lahari Music dropped a couple of special posters along with a link to the trailer of Draupathi 2 and wrote, “The wait ends here. The Sensational Draupathi 2 Trailer is OUT NOW! An epic saga of power, pride, and vengeance awaits. A Ghibran Vaibodha Musical. The three minutes odd trailer of Draupathi 2 opens to a queen uttering in a fierce manner, “Draupathi was born out of fire. Today I came to know the reason why they named me as such.” The shot cuts to a king (played by actor Natarajan Subramaniam) naming a baby, “I am naming the one who is going to live for the prosperity of the nation as Veera Simha Kadavarayan.” We have a grandiose intro of actor Richard Rishi who thrashes a few individuals.
Subsequently we have the intro of Villain who says, “To win the entire world and bring it under Thuglak’s control is my desire.” In a shot we see a character mouthing, “If we drive the Sulthans out of our land, people will feel safe.” To which Natarajan Subramaniam responds, “Our next mission is to liberate our land. Then build a just Vijaya empire. That is the only way for us to reclaim what we lost and protect what we have.”
Draupathi 2 is set in 14th century India and is about the invasion of Sulthans. Besides Richard Rishi, Natarajan Subramaniam, and Rakshana Induchoodan, the casting unit of Draupathi 2 also has actors Vela Ramamoorthy, Dinesh Lamba, Chirag Jani, Ganesh Gourang, Siraj Johnny, Y Gee Mahendran, Barani, Arunodhayan Lakshmanan, Deviyani Sharma, Divi, Saravana Subbiah, and Jayavel playing various supporting characters.
Music director Ghibran Vaibodha has handled musical instruments for the flick. Cinematographer Philip K Sundar has been behind the lens for the entertainer. Editor Devaraj has been bestowed with the responsibility to chop and patch the movie. Art director S Kamal has erected sets for the drama. Stunt director Action Sandhosh has fashioned action moves for the film. Draupathi 2 is produced by Sola Shakkaravarthi under the production company Netaji Productions.
On the professional front, actor Natarajan Subramaniam has a number of releases lined up in his pipeline via Karuppu scripted by RJ Balaji in which he will be seen alongside actors Suriya, Trisha Krishnan, & Sshivada, Sambavam filmed by P Ranjithkumar in which he has share screen space with actors Srikanth & Chandini Tamilarasan, and Idhayam Murali helmed by Aakash Baskaran & Senthil Kumar Kesavan in which he has teamed up with actors Atharvaa Murali, Kayadu Lohar, and Jonita Gandhi.
