Actor G V Prakash Kumar lastly entertained audiences in the crime thriller Blackmail helmed by Mu Maran with actresses Teju Ashwini and Bindu Madhavi in the female lead roles. The Adiyae actor will soon have his next release in Lucky The Superstar. Actor Uday Mahesh is poised to return to direction after nearly two decades. His last directorial being Jayasurya’s Chakkara Viyugam. The story credit is also attributed to him.
Actress Anaswara Rajan of With Love fame will be seen in the female lead role in the project. The drama will be directly released on the JioHotstar OTT platform. It is set to premiere from 20th of February. The production team has now launched the trailer of the flick on social media.

The nearly two minutes trailer of Lucky The Superstar opens to the voiceover of actress Kovai Sarala dubbed for a dog, “Where is the child that gave life to me?” Another dog intervenes, “Why are you howling and gathering the attention of people?” She responds, “I have lost my child Lucky whom I raised with great care.” A dog nearby in the voice of Motta Rajendran says, “Dude, would he have been run over by a water tanker just like his dad.” A dog with Thambi Ramaiah’s voiceover chides him, “Just shut your mouth man.”
The shot cuts to actor G V Prakash Kumar in a police station trying to file a complaint. He shows a photo of a dog and says, “Sir, Lucky is missing.” To which the cop retorts, “Is this a police station or a mental hospital?” Subsequently, we witness the pup reach the hand of a politician who assumes that the dog is a lucky charm. The news spreads among the political circle, and more politicians gearing up for elections endeavor to own the dog.
Ensemble cast of Lucky The Superstar also includes actors Daniel Annie Pope, Meghna Sumesh, Mahanadi Shankar, Aadukalam Naren, Devadarshini, Uday Mahesh, Madhusudhan Rao, Elango Kumaravel, Subbu Panchu, Namo Narayana, Uday Mahesh, and Muthukumar. Artists Kovai Sarala, Motta Rajendran, and Thambi Ramaiah have lent their voice for dog characters in the movie. Musician Hesham Abdul Wahab has been roped in to handle musical gears for the drama.
Cinematographer Madhan Christopher has shouldered camera for the entertainer. Editor Lawrence Kishore has been hired to work on the editing department of the movie. Art director Ayyapan has fashioned sets for the film. Action director Om Siva Prakash has choreographed action moves for the flick. Lucky The Superstar is bankrolled by Pushpa Kandaswamy and Kandaswamy Bharathan under the production banner Kavithalayaa Productions.
On the work side, actor G V Prakash Kumar is looking at successive release in Happy Raj crafted by Maria Raja Elanchezyan in which he has romanced actress Sri Gouri Priya, Immortal filmed by Mariyappan Chinna in which he has teamed up with actress Kayadu Lohar, and Adangathey directed by Shanmugam Muthuswamy in which he has costarred with actress Surbhi Chandra.
The Kingston actor is busy working on his next venture Kadhalikka Yarumillai scripted by Kamal Prakash in which he will be partnering with actress Raiza Wilson, Mental Manadhil directed by Selvaraghavan in which he will be collaborating with actress Madhuri Jain, 13 crafted by Vivek K Kannan in which he will be featuring alongside actresses Aadya Prasad and Bhavya Trikha, and Idi Muzhakkam helmed by Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be seen alongside actress Gayathrie.
