Actor-Director Sasikumar is known for choosing content-oriented scripts. He was last seen in the critically acclaimed flick “Ayothi”. Now he is back again with yet another interesting movie titled “Freedom” co-starring Lijomol Jose of “Jai Bhim” fame. The first look poster of the movie was released yesterday and is getting rave appreciation from the audience. The movie is directed by Sathya Siva of “Kazhugu” fame and Pandiyan Parasuram, the debuting producer, is bankrolling the project under his banner “Vijay Ganapathy’s Pictures”.
The team has unveiled the first look of “Freedom” with the thought-provoking tagline “August 14”. The poster features both Sasikumar and Lijomol Jose, with Actor Sasikumar seen gazing intensely at the camera, while Lijomol Jose is shown looking straight ahead at what looks to be a crowd of hundreds of people. This first look is even more impressive, with Sasikumar’s commanding presence and rising smoke in the background conveying an aura of intensity and curiosity.

Apart from Tamil, the movie is all set for the grand release across various languages like Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. It’s going to be the second outing for both Actor Sasikumar and director Sathya Siva as the duo has previously worked together on the successful film “Naan Mirugamaai Maara” in 2022.
Coming back to “Freedom”, the movie is intended to be a period drama, and the main story revolves around India’s freedom struggle, expected to explore the lesser-known yet important events that happened during that time. The title “Freedom” and tagline “August 14” confirm the same.
Director Sathya Siva is not new to the industry, as his previous outing, Kazhugu in 2012 was the biggest hit, and his second outing “Naan Mirugamaai Maara” also went well at the box office. Both movies are based on true events, and his screenplay work is widely acknowledged by the audience and movie critics. The first-look poster of Freedom also indicates that the audience can expect the same from him again.
Apart from him, the movie has also got NS Uthayakumar of “Kurangu Bommai” fame handling the camera work, and NB Srikanth manages editing. Ghibran is taking care of songs and background music. C Uthayakumar is doing artworks for the movie.
The movie is expected to hit screens this summer. Shooting has been completed, and post-production work is going in full swing. The makers are planning to release further updates related to the movie like the First Single, Teaser, and Trailer in the coming days. The movie was made on a huge budget, and hence the makers are looking for the right release date that will help them reach the audience in other states as well.
After Ayothi, it seems everything is going right for Actor Sasikumar, who has been waited for a hit for quite a long time. Apart from Freedom, the actor has a few interesting projects under his belt like “Pagaivanuku Arulvai,” “Naa Naa,” and “Garudan,” which co-stars Soori and Unni Mukundan. It seems 2024 is going to be his year. Besides these projects, he is all set to make his digital debut by directing a web series titled “Kutraparambarai,” a renowned Tamil novel written by Vela Ramamoorthi for Hotstar.
After Jai Bhim, actress Lijomol Jose is making a comeback in Kollywood with the movie “Freedom”. As an audience, we can expect a similar kind of performance from her. She was last seen in the critically acclaimed Malayalam flick “Her”.
