Adithya Varma teaser: Dhruv Vikram falls short of expectations

Arjun Reddy, the emotional love drama needs no introduction to the cinema audience of South India as the film’s impact was such. The flick turned actor Vijay Deverakonda in to a super star overnight. The success of the film attracted the attention of producers from other languages as well and it was announced that the film will be remade in to two other languages Tamil and Hindi. The Hindi version recently hit the screens with actors Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. Though Shahid Kapoor received critical acclamation for his role in the film, the project did not replicate the magic produced by Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy.

The Tamil version of the movie was initially titled as Varmaa and was directed by Bala. But the production house declared it emotionless and decided to shoot the project freshly once again with the debutant film maker Gireesaaya, former associate of Sandeep Vanga director of the original version. Also, they re-christened the title from Varmaa to Adithya Varma. Now, the venture is almost done and the production unit has unveiled the teaser of the flick. In the teaser Dhruv Vikram tries hard to bring in the rage and obsession that we witnessed in the original version from Vijay Deverakonda. But falls shorts of producing the violent shades that we were able to enjoy in the original version. Dhruv Vikram seems to be too soft for the role but we will have to hold on to our opinion until the movies hits the screens.

The project had to cross over a lot of barriers to reach this stage. After the creative tussle between the producer and director Bala, there were rumors that the venture has been shelved permanently. Then Bala slapped a legal notice that not a single shot that was filmed under his direction should be used in the new version. Putting aside everything the production unit went in with a proper scheduling plan for the new version and was able to wrap up the venture in just 50 days which is definitely a commendable task. According to sources the production unit is planning to have the audio launch of the film by the end of June and they are also busy in fixing the release slot for the movie.

The music for the love drama will be composed by Radhan, who had composed the music for the original version as well. While Ravi K Chandran has cranked the camera for the cinema, Vivek Harshan will be handling the editing department for the film. The motion picture is bankrolled by Mukesh Mehta under the banner E4 Entertainment. We will have to wait to see what sort of debut Dhruv Vikram is set to have through Adithya Varma.
