Actor Dhanush K Raja was last seen on screens in Bollywood in the romantic film Tere Ishk Mein helmed by director Aanand L Rai with actress Kriti Sanon as female lead. The Idli Kadai actor is currently busy shooting for his next drama christened Kara. Story teller Vignesh Raja, who previously crafted the critically acclaimed film Por Thozhil, is directing the entertainer. He has co-written the script of the drama with writer Alfred Prakash.
Actress Mamitha Baiju of Dude fame has been cast against actor Dhanush for the first time in her career. Malayalam actor Jayaram will be depicting a pivotal role in the entertainer. The entertainer recently went on floors with a small pooja ceremony in Chennai. The makers have now launched the title teaser of the film on social media.

One minute odd title teaser of Kara opens to a group of henchmen searching for actor Dhanush in what appears to be a dense forest amidst a downpour. Then we have the voiceover of the actor, “Be it crop or weed . . . be it sin of virtue . . . what a man sows he alone must reap. What I sowed is finally ripe for the taking. But before that I must wipe the stain up on my name. And lead those who trust me to a safe haven. My name is Karasaami. They will call me Kara.”
Apart from Dhanush, Mamitha Baiju, and Jayaram, the casting unit of the flick also has actors Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, K S Ravikumar, S Rajapandi, Nithin Sathya, M S Baskar, Sreeja Ravi, Kushmitha, and Karunas essaying various supporting characters. Music director G V Prakash Kumar has been hired to work on the musical division of the entertainer.
Cinematographer Theni Eswar ISC is taking care of the cinematography department of the movie. Editor Sreejith Sarang has been brought on board to bring coherence to the flick. Art director Mayapandi is designing the background for the drama. Stunt director Dinesh Kasi is choreographing action moves for the venture. The drama is produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh along with Kushmitha Ganesh under the production company Vels Film International.
On the work side, actor Dhanush K Raja is simultaneously shooting for his next project tentatively christened D 55 helmed by Rajkumar Periasamy. The entertainer has an ensemble cast that includes Malayalam actor Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, and Sreeleela. Beside this venture, the Raayan actor has D 56 directed by Mari Selvaraj, Ilaiyaraaja crafted by Arun Matheswaran, Kalam: The Missile Man Of India scripted by Om Raut, Aayirathil Oruvan 2 scripted by Selvaraghavan, Pudhupettai 2 also filmed by Selvaraghavan, and a couple of untitled ventures under the direction of Nelson Dilipkumar & H Vinoth in pre-production stage.
On the other hand, actress Mamitha Baiju will soon be seen on screens in Jana Nayagan filmed by H Vinoth in which she has featured alongside actors Vijay, Pooja Hegde, & Bobby Deol. The actress is presently shooting for her future Malayalam flick Bethlehem Kudumba Unit directed by A D Girish in which she will be sharing screen space with actor Nivin Pauly, and Premalu 2 helmed by A D Girish in which she will be seen alongside actors Naslen & Mathew Thomas. Apart from these films, the actress has Suriya 46 scripted by Venky Atluri in which she has teamed up with actors Suriya & Raveena Tandon, and Irandu Vaanam crafted by Ram Kumar in which she has romanced actor Vishnu Vishal at various stages of post-production.
