Just like how story tellers tailgate leading actors for their call sheet, now many directors in the Tamil cinema industry are behind comedy sensation Yogi Babu to secure his call sheet for their films. Comedian Santhanam was once bagging projects at this speed and now it is the time of actor Yogi Babu. The actor was last seen in the comedy entertainer Gurkha in which he played the lead role. The flick did do a moderate business but it did not keep the box office registers ticking as expected. Now, we have an interesting update on the actor’s next project.
The actor has been busy shooting simultaneously for many of his projects including his project previously titled as Aalukku Paathi 50 / 50 with film maker Krishna Sai. Now we have reports that the venture has been renamed as Kadhal Modhal 50 / 50. The director of the horror comedy entertainer has recently opened up about the venture to a leading daily. Speaking about his film the director stated, “Tamil audience has seen way too many flicks over the past two or three years in this genre. But this entertainer will be very different from rest of the movies in terms of the treatment that we have given to it. Majority of the movies that hit the screens under this genre, generally have a lot of loopholes as creators take the liberty of entertaining people and leave the logic in air. But in this drama from the back-story for the person who becomes a ghost to every plot in the project, we have crafted apt reasons for everything. The first half of the movie will be very quick while the second half will deal with some serious incidents. I hope the audience will enjoy the drama.”
The movie is shot in the outer regions of Chennai and Pondicherry. The shooting for the horror comedy film is almost over and is expected to be wrapped up in the next three days. This is a great news for the actor who is enjoying back to back releases. The film is expected to hit the screens in the month of November.
Actor Yogi Babu is said to be seen in a pivotal role in the project. Actresses Shreya Gupta and Sruthi Ramakrishnan will be playing the female lead roles in the entertainer. While the casting of the film also includes Bala Saravanan, Mottai Rajendran, John Vijay, Bavithra, Mayilswamy, KPY Deena, Sriranjini, and Madhan bob portraying various other supporting roles. The music for the drama is composed by Dharan Kumar of Poda Podi fame. While R. K. Pratap will be seen behind the lens for the movie, Raja Sethupathi will be trimming the comedy flick. The motion picture will be bankrolled by V. N. Ranjith Kumar under the banner LIPI Cine Crafts.
On the professional front, actor Yogi Babu will next be seen on screens in the super star Rajinikanth starrer Darbar which is helmed by controversial director Murugadoss and in Vijay’s Bigil which will hit the theaters under the directorial of story teller Atlee.
