Actor Sivakarthikeyan had his last outing earlier this year in the political action film Parasakthi filmed by Sudha Kongara with actors Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela in the lead roles. The Prince actor is now engaged in his next movie christened Seyon. Story teller Sivakumar Murugesan, who shot to fame with Aan Paavam Pollathathu, is helming the drama. The story credit is also attributed to him.
Actress Bhagyashri Borse of Kaantha fame will be seen in the female lead role in the flick. The production house has already set October of this year as the release window for the drama. Earlier, this year they had launched a promo from the film. Now we have news that shooting for the project has begun in Madurai. The production team themselves has publicized the news on social media.
Taking to their official X handle, the team of Raaj Kamal Films International dropped a small clip from the pooja ceremony of Seyon and captioned it, “A grand beginning for SEYON and the journey ahead சேயோன். Vetrivel Veeravel, Kamal Haasan, Sivakarthikeyan. One minute clip from the pooja ceremony shows the team of Seyon assembling in Madurai for the event. Actor Kamal Haasan is seen directing a shot. It ends with him snapping photos with various artists in the production unit. The promo of Seyon which released earlier showed a group of people detained in a police station following a fight over a play at the village festival, and ended with Sivakarthikeyan, who leads the festival procession, also being brought into custody.
Talking to a leading daily on the pooja event, actor Sivakarthikeyan expressed his happiness, “I am very happy on this special occasion.” When asked about the resemblances between Seyon and Kamal Haasan’s Virumaandi he said, “We are trying to pick what really worked and what the audience enjoyed in Virumaandi, and see if we can inculcate those elements in Seyon.” Comparison between Seyon and Virumaandi began circulating online after actor Sivakarthikeyan’s character in the promo had idiosyncratic traits to Virumaandi’s lead character.
The project marks actor Sivakarthikeyan’s second association with Kamal Haasan’s production house after their blockbuster entertainer in Amaran. Besides Sivakarthikeyan and Bhagyashri Borse, the casting unit of the entertainer also has actors Raichal Rabecca, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Singampuli, Hello Kandasamy, Rajesh Gopalan, and Arun Venjaramoodu essaying various supporting roles.
Music director Santhosh Narayanan has been roped in to compose music for the entertainer. Cinematographer Vivek Vijayakumar has been trusted with the cinematography department of the movie. Editor San Lokesh has been brought on board to bring coherence to the film.
Art director R K Nagu will be erecting sets for the project. Action director Supreme Sundar will be choreographing action blocks for the flick. The venture is backed by Kamal Haasan under the banner house Raaj Kamal Films International in affiliation with R Mahendran and S Disney for the production house Turmeric Media.
On the professional front, actor Sivakarthikeyan is concurrently shooting for several of his untitled films crafted by director Venkat Prabhu in which he will be sharing screen space with actresses Kalyani Priyadarshan & Ramya Nambeeshan, and under the directorial of directors Pushkar – Gayatri, Cibi Chakaravarthi, & Vinaya K Chandrasekaran.
