Actor Shanmuga Pandian Vijayakant was recently seen on screens in the action film Padai Thalaivan helmed by story teller U Anbu with actress Yamini Chander in the female lead role. The Madura Veeran actor is now gearing up for the release of his next gangster drama christened Kombuseevi. Director Ponram, who drew Tamil audience’s attention with his rural entertainers Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam and Rajini Murugan, has written and helmed the flick.
Actress Tharnika will be opening her account in Tamil cinema with her female lead in the movie. The production unit has already announced that the drama will be released in theaters worldwide as a festive release on 25th of December this year. Earlier the makers had launched the teaser of the flick on social media. They have now unveiled a peppy song from the album.
Taking to his official X account, actor Sarath Kumar himself shared a couple of special posters along with a link to the peppy number ‘Vasthara’ from Kombuseevi and wrote, “It’s time for some Ajakthaa Bujakthaa vibes da machaans. Singers Yuvan Shankar Raja and Vishnu Priya Ravi have sung the song. Rapper Thamizh Aadhavan has rapped for the track. Lyricist Super Subbu has penned lyrics for the number. The song is mixed and mastered by Ramji Soma. Dance master Sherif has choreographed dance moves for the track. Music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has handled musical gears for the film. Already a single ‘Unna Naan Paatha’ in the lyrics of Yugabharathi sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja is out from the album.
Kombuseevi is said to be inspired from real life events that took place around Usilampatti and Andipatti in the 90s. The teaser of the film which released earlier showcased both Shanmuga Pandian and Sarath Kumar being presented in court for making bombs. Upon asking for their intent, they quip that they did so to defend Madurai from Pakistan.
Apart from Shanmuga Pandian and Tharnika, the star cast of the movie also has veteran actors R Sarath Kumar, Kaali Venkat, Anaira Gupta, and Kalki Raja essaying various supporting roles. Cinematographer Balasubramaniam has worked on the cinematography department of the film. Editor Dinesh Ponraj has been contracted to bring coherence to the entertainer.
Art director Saravana Abiram has erected sets for the project. Stunt masters Phoenix Prabhu and Sakthi Saravanan have choreographed action moves for the film. The entertainer is bankrolled by Mukesh T Chelliah under the production house Star Cinemas.
On the work front, actor Shanmuga Pandian is occupied in his next untitled venture filmed by Anbarasan in which he will be featuring alongside actress Yamini Chander.
On the other hand, actor Sarath Kumar is presently focused on his next flick Ezham Iravil scripted by Akhil M Bose, and Samaran crafted by Thirumalai Baluchamy in which he will be partnering with actors Suhasini & Vidharth. Apart from these flicks, the 3 BHK star has a bunch of his long-delayed projects Mr. X directed by Manu Anand in which he has associated with actors Arya, Gautham Karthik, & Manju Warrier, Naa Naa scripted by N V Nirmal Kumar in which he has joined forces with actors Sasikumar, Chitra Shukla, & Haripriya, and Aazhi – The Ocean helmed by Madhav Ramadasan in the box awaiting release.
