Actor Vijay Antony had a release last year in the action thriller flick Hitler directed by Dhana with actress Riya Suman as female lead. The venture opened to negative reviews from critics and had a muted box office collection. The Kodiyil Oruvan star will soon have a release this year in the likes of his upcoming crime thriller Maargan. Debutant director Leo John Paul has penciled and crafted the entertainer. He has borrowed the assistance of Vishnu, K Pazhani, and P Bharath Kumar to develop the story of the movie. Actress Brigida Saga of Iravin Nizhal fame will be seen in the female lead role in the film. Actor Samuthirakani has portrayed a pivotal part in the movie. The production house has already announced that the project will hit theaters worldwide on 27th June of this year.
The production house has now released the trailer of the entertainer on social media. Taking to their official X profile, the production team of Vijay Antony Film Corporation dropped a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Maargan and captioned it, “A pursuit of Darkness and the Devil it hides. The intriguing Maargan Trailer is now here. MAARGAN VAFC 12. Maargan From June 27.” Here is the post made by the production unit.
Two minutes odd trailer of Maargan opens to actor Vijay Antony instructing someone through a phone call, “Watch carefully. Just like how we are following her, the killer is also following her. Her life is on our hands.” We then see a sanitary worker stumbling up on a dead body that has strangely turned completely black. A slew of murders rocks the city, and it appears a serial killer is on the loose. Then a voiceover tells us, “According to the postmortem report they have injected a special blood to burn the body.” Actor Samuthirakani introduces actor Vijay Antony as a cop, “He is Mr. Dhruv. Senior ADGP Mumbai. He is going to handle the case from now. It is completely unofficial.” The shot cuts to actor Vijay Antony mouthing a punch dialogue, “Sometimes when we want to weed out poisonous plants, we will have to destroy the whole garden.” The trailer ends with him saying, “Did I not say that the devil will try to come out?”
Apart from Vijay Antony, Brigida Saga, and Samuthirakani, the casting crew of Maargan also has actors Deepshika, Anthagaram Natarajan, Mahanadhi Shankar, Ajay Dhishan, Vinoth Sagar, Kanimozhi, Archana, and Prithika essaying various supporting roles. Vijay Antony himself has worked on the musical division of the venture. Cinematographer S Yuva has shouldered camera for the flick. Story teller Leo John Paul himself has edited the flick. Art director A Raja has fashioned sets for the drama. Action director Adithya has designed action moves for the entertainer. The project is bankrolled by Fatima Vijay Antony under the banner house Vijay Antony Film Corporation.
On the work front, actor Vijay Antony is currently busy shooting for his next films Shakthi Thirumagan helmed by director Arun Prabu Purushothaman in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Sunil Kriplani, Trupthi Ravindra, & Cell Murugan, and Lawyer crafted by Joshua Sethuraman in which he will be collaborating with Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon. Apart from these movies, the Kolai actor has a couple of his long-delayed entertainers in Agni Siragugal directed by Naveen in which he has performed alongside actors Arun Vijay & Akshara Haasan, Valli Mayil scripted by director Suseenthiran in which he has teamed up with actors Faria Abdullah & Sathyaraj, and Khakhee filmed by storyteller A Senthil Kumar in which he has co starred with actors Jai, Sathya Raj, and Indhuja Ravichandran in the shelves awaiting release.
