Actor Samuthirakani has earned a reputation for playing socially responsible characters. To the extent that people have begun to use his name to address real life humanitarians. The Subramaniapuram actor had his last outing in the action drama Yaanai which hit the screens under the directorial of story teller Hari with actor Arun Vijay in the lead. Though the entertainer fell flat in the metro zones, it did a good business in the rural parts of the state. The actor is now busy shooting for his upcoming flick titled Raja Kili. Actor Thambi Ramaiah will be seen playing a vital part in the movie. Umapathy Ramaiah, son of actor Thambi Ramaiah will be making his debut as a director with the movie. The entertainer which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a couple of months back is in the final leg of shoot, and will soon be wrapped.
Now, the production house has unveiled the first look poster of the drama. Actor Samuthirakani himself has shared the poster. Taking to his official twitter account, the actor dropped the first look poster of the flick, and wrote, “அடுத்த நிஜம்…வெல்வோம். (Next truth… We will win.) Raja Kili Umapathy Ramaiah Directorial.” Here is the post made by the actor.

The first look poster has actor Samuthirakani trying to lift a homeless man (played by Thambi Ramaiah) with a rebellious expression on his face. In the background of the poster, we see the tagline, ‘You can’t hide the homeless.’ Earlier speaking about the movie to a leading daily in the state, actor Thambi Ramaiah said, “The story of Raja Kili is a real-life story of a man. There will be a lot of emotional turmoil and compassion. I am sure the film will give the audience a unique cinematic experience. By the end they will have a complete satisfaction of having witnessed a man’s life journey.”
Apart from actors Samuthirakani and Thambi Ramaiah, Raja Kili has actors M S Bhaskar, Pazha Karuppaiah, Ilavarasu, Aadukalam Naren, Krish, Praveen G, Moorthy, Kumki Ashwin, Reshma, Vetri Kumaran, Kumki Dharani, Deepa, G P Muthu, and Rahul Ji in various other supporting roles. Music director Sai Dinesh will be handling the musical department of the flick. Cinematographer Gopinath has been behind the lens for the movie. Editor Sudarsan will be trimming the project. Art director Umesh J Kumar has built the sets for the film. The entertainer is funded by Suresh Kamatchi under his home banner V House Productions.
On the work front, actor Samuthirakani who was last seen on screens in the action drama Yaanai is currently busy shooting for his upcoming venture titled Indian 2 under the direction of S Shankar in which he will be sharing the screen space with actor Kamal Haasan, and for a Telugu project which is tentatively christened as RC 15 also helmed by director S Shankar in which he will be seen alongside actor Ram Charan. Following which he will begin to shoot for Are You Okay Baby under filmmaker Lakshmy Ramakrishnan in which he will be co starring with actress Abhirami. Apart from these ventures, the actor has a Tamil venture Andhagan helmed by Thiagarajan in which he has collaborated with actor Prashanth, and a Telugu project Panchathantram directed by Harsha Pulipaka in various stages of post-production shaping up for release.
