Actor Suriya had his last outing in the romantic action thriller Retro directed by Karthik Subbaraj with actress Pooja Hegde as female lead. The Jai Bhim actor is now gearing up for the release of his upcoming action movie Karuppu. Actor RJ Balaji, who co-directed his previous projects Mookuthi Amman and Veetla Vishesham, will make his debut as a director with the entertainer. Writers Ashwin Ravichandran, Karan Aravind Kumar, Rahul Raj, and T S Gopi Krishnan have contributed in shaping the flow of the story.
Actress Trisha Krishnan has depicted the female lead role in the drama. Karuppu marks her fourth association with actor Suriya following their collaboration in Aaytha Ezhuthu, Mounam Pesiyadhe, and Aaru. The drama was shot in various vicinities in Chennai, Coimbatore, Pollachi, and Hyderabad. The production house has already announced that the flick will be arriving in theaters on 14th of May. They had recently released a couple of singles from the entertainer on social media. They have now unveiled the third song from the album.

Singers Sai Abhyankkar, VM Mahalingam, and Paal Dabba have sung the song. Lyricist Vivek has penned lyrics for the track. The number is mixed by Sai Abhyankkar and master by Rupendar Venkatesh. Dance master Sandy has choreographed dance moves for the song.
Music director Sai Abhyankkar has handled musical instruments for the film. Two singles ‘God Mode’ written by Vishnu Edavan crooned by Sai Abhyankkar & Gana Muthu, and ‘Naanga Naalu Peru’ in the voice of Silambarasan lyrics penned by Asal Kolaar are out from the album.
Karuppu is touted to be a rustic action movie which has actor Suriya portraying a macho man character named Saravanan. The teaser which was released earlier had actor Suriya as a convivial combatant who socializes and dances around in the village while also beating up hooligans to a pulp. The teaser has a heavy hangover of actor Suriya’s Vel and Singam.
Casting crew of Karuppu also comprises actors Sshivada, Natty Subramaniam, Yogi Babu, Swasika, Anagha Maaya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy, Jafar Sadiq, Indrans, and Mansoor Ali Khan. RJ Balaji is said to have essayed a cameo role. Cinematographers G K Vishnu and Kiran Kaushik have worked on the cinematography division of the movie.
Editor R Kalaivanan has been trusted with the editing department of the drama. Art director Narendran has engineered sets for the entertainer. stunt directors Anbu, Arivu, and Vikram Mor have designed action blocks for the project. Karuppu is funded by S R Prakash Babu and S R Prabhu under the production company Dream Warriors Pictures. Zee Tamil has bagged the satellite rights of the flick.
On the professional side, actor Suriya is eagerly expecting the release of his next project Vishwanath & Sons helmed by Venky Atluri in which he has shared screen space with actress Mamitha Baiju. The Retro actor is now busy shooting for his future movie tentatively titled Suriya 47 crafted by Jithu Madhavan in which he will be teaming up with actress Nazriya Nazim, and Vaadivaasal directed by Vetrimaaran.
On the other hand, actress Trisha Krishnan will soon have a release in Telugu cinema via Vishwambhara crafted by Mallidi Vassishta in which she has performed alongside actor Chiranjeevi. The Raangi actress is now occupied with her upcoming ventures Maasani Amman filmed by RJ Balaji, and a Malayalam film Ram scripted by Jeethu Joseph in which she will be starring with actor Mohanlal.
