Actor Kishore Kumar was last seen in a supporting role in the action thriller Indian Penal Law directed by Karunanithi with actors Abhirami and TTF Vasan in lead roles. The Polladhavan actor is now getting ready for the release of his next drama titled Mellisai in which he will return to the lead role. Director Dhirav, who previously delivered projects like Veppam Kulir Mazhai and Dopamine @ 2.22, has penned and directed the venture.
Actress Subatra Robert of Yaathisai fame will be seen in the female lead role in the flick. Actor Harish Utthaman has played a pivotal part in the entertainer. The makers are yet to announce a date for release of the venture. They have just begun to promote the project. As part of it, they have now shared the trailer of the movie on social media.
Taking to their official X account, the team of Done Channel dropped the trailer of Mellisai and captioned it, “The official trailer of the movie. ‘ Mellisai ‘ starring Kishore Kumar. The nearly three minutes trailer of Mellisai starts with a boy recording a shot of him asking actor Kishore, “Sir, dedicate a favorite song of yours for us.” He begins to sing the classic track, ‘Ennai thalaatta varuvalo Nenjil . . .” The shot cuts to a voiceover of a small girl, “If everyone of us had an option to reverse our life, how good would it be, right?”
Then we have Kishore’s daughter asking him, “Dad, I will ask you something. But you should not say no.” He tells her, “Only if you say what it is, I can tell you yes or no.” Following a few shots establishes him as a normal family guy living a lethargic life with his wife, daughter, and son. But his fortune turns when he decides to take part in a reality singing show.
His new adventure introduces a new woman in his life and it starts to cause friction in his family. In a scene we witness his wife expressing, “I do not like you participating in the show. You have no worries that you have lost your job.” He asks her, “Do you like me singing?” The shot cuts to his daughter guiding him, “If you dedicate a song for mom in your next round. She will calm down after seeing it.”
Apart from Kishore Kumar, Harish Utthaman, and Subatra Robert, the casting unit of the movie also has actors George Mariyan, Kannan Bharathi, Angelin, Jaswant, Rukmani, Proaktiv Prabhakaran, Vijay Duke, Ravi Ezhumazhai, and Dhananya portraying various supporting characters. Music director Shankar Rangarajan has been contracted to compose music for the movie. Already three songs ‘Idhu Enna Maayam’, ‘Life Ku Oru Songu’, and ‘Vaarthai Thani Thani’ are out from the album.
Cinematographer Devaraj Pugazhenthi has taken care of the cinematography department of the flick. Story teller Dhirav himself has overseen the editing division of the film. Art directors Deevan Paul and Prem have worked in tandem to erect sets for the entertainer. Stunt master Stunner Sam has choreographed action moves for the venture. The entertainer is bankrolled by Dhirav himself under the production label A Hashtag FDFS Productions.
On the professional side, actor Kishore Kumar will soon have his next release in Kannada cinema in Dantakathe directed by Vachan in which he has shared screen space with actors Raghu Mukherjee & Yasha Shivakumar, and Nathuram helmed by director Vinu Balanja in which he has collaborated with actors Rishab Shetty & Ganavi Lakshman.
On the other hand, actress Subatra Robert is eagerly anticipating her next Tamil release Oh God Beautiful filmed by Vishnu Vijayan in which she has performed alongside actors Gopi & Sudhakar, and a Malayalam drama Dear Students crafted by Sandeep Kumar & George Philip Roy in which she has costarred with actors Nivin Pauly & Nayanthara.
