“I was thrown out of Vijay Sethupathi’s film”, claims Amala Paul

Actress Amala Paul is in the news again and this time with a different controversy though. We had recently reported that actress Amala Paul was brought on board for Vijay Sethupathi’s 33rd project. But very shortly it was announced that actress Megha Akash will be replacing Amala Paul in the venture. The reason stated for the replacement was date issues, and since the project was already on floors the unit could not wait for actress Amala Paul to join them and so they have made the decision to replace actress Amala Paul. Now actress Amala Paul has come up with a different claim and has stated that she was thrown out of the project without any proper reasons.

The actress has addressed the issue on her social media account. Taking to her Twitter account the actress has shared a two page explanation on why she was expelled from the project. The Aadai star has lashed out on the Chandara Arts production house for replacing her from the project stating ‘she was not production friendlier.’ The actress has also stated that the patriarchical mindset is true reason for her being replaced from the venture. The actress opens the explanation with expressing her disappointment, “I am writing out of my great disappointment, as I have been thrown out of an ongoing movie, tentatively titled as VSP33, stating a simple statement by the production that, ‘I am not production friendly.’”

Speaking further the actress states, “This accusation has never been laid up on me during my decade long career by any of my colleagues.” The actress says that she is in Mumbai, purchasing outfits for the project VSP33 and that she receives a message from the producer Rathienavelu Kumar of Chandara Arts stating that ‘he does not want her in the film as he could not meet her demands and terms.’ Amala Paul admits in her statement that she had requested for the production house to take care of her accommodation in Ooty, where the unit will be heading to roll their first schedule of the shoot. Speaking on it she states, “Anyhow, he never bothered to call me before making his conclusions and hastily decided to throw me out of an ongoing project.”

Amala Paul blames that the decision of the producer comes after the release of her controversial teaser of Aadai which clocked nearly six million views. “It is just a patriarchical, egoistic, traditional mindset of Chandara Arts production that this is happening right after the release of Aadai teaser and my image is being sabotaged with multiple baseless rumors that are mischievously being floated around in the industry. Tamil Nadu deserves good cinema and that will only happen when this large set of traditional, patriarchical production houses change their mindset,”

Even in spite of everything the actress was careful to not bring in actor Vijay Sethupathi in to this, as she finally states, “No harm is intended to you Vijay Sethupathi. I am a huge fan and I was excitedly looking forward to be working with you. This is a statement written out of my grave disappointment and to address the rumors that are being spread around by Chandara productions about my unprofessional conduct,” concludes the actress.
