Veteran actor Vadivelu had his last outing in the action-comedy film Gangers scripted and headlined by Sundar C with actress Catherine Tresa in the female lead role. Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil last graced the silver screen in Telugu in Pushpa 2: The Rule helmed by Sukumar with actors Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The duo became fan favorites after their spectacular performance in Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan. They are now gearing up to entertain audiences once again in their upcoming venture titled Maareesan.
Malayalam director Sudheesh Shankar, who has delivered projects like Aarumaname and Villali Veeran is set to make his debut in Kollywood with the film. Writer Krishna Moorthy has conceptualized the story, penned dialogues, and fashioned a screenplay for the film. First look poster of the movie had an interesting depiction of a face of a deer engraved in the middle of a road along with the caption ‘The hunt and the hunter’.
The production unit has now shared the teaser of the flick on social media. Taking to his official X handle, music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja unveiled the teaser of Maareesan and captioned it, “The wait is over! Get a glimpse into the world of Maareesan – a power-packed performance by the dynamic duo Fafa and Vadivelu. Maareesan Teaser!” Here is the post made by the musician.
Nearly one and a half minutes long teaser of Maareesan begins with an aerial shot of a road to a vintage classic song ‘Aaha Inba Nilaavinile’. The scene cuts to a medium closeup shot of actor Fahadh Faasil riding a bike and Vadivelu as his pillion rider. Following which we have montages of actor Fahadh Faasil being friendly with a cop, playing poker, and sharing a drink with actor Vadivelu.
The seconds half of the teaser gets serious with both the stars singing the song repeatedly with sarcasm and in stern modulation. We witness them walking in open fields, and Fahadh Faasil sharing something very enthusiastically with Vadivelu. In a scene we see actor Vadivelu slap Fahadh Faasil. The teaser ends with both the stars seated under a tree with actor Vadivelu singing the song.
Apart from Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil, the star cast of the drama also has actors Vivek Prasanna, Kovai Sarala, P L Thenappan, Sithara, Saravana Subbiah, Renuka, Livingston, Haritha, Telephone Raja, and Krishna portraying various supporting roles. Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja has been brought on board to work on the musical department of the drama. Cinematographer Kalaiselvan Sivaji has taken care of the cinematography division of the movie.
Editor Sreejith Sarang has been engaged to bring coherence to the project. Art director Mahendran has engineered sets for the drama. Stunt master Phoenix Prabu has designed action moves for the flick. The drama is backed by R B Choudhary under his home banner Super Good Films. Maaresan will be the 98th production for the company.
On the professional front, actor Vadivelu is busy shooting for his next venture Comedy Cowboy crafted by director Nalan Kumarasamy. On the other hand, actor Fahadh Faasil will soon have his next release in Malayalam via Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira filmed by Althaf Salim in which he will be collaborating with actress Kalyani Priyadarshan. Apart from this flick, the Vikram star is presently shooting for his upcoming Malayalam drama Karate Chandran scripted by Roy, MMMN directed by story teller Mahesh Narayanan in which he will be sharing screen space with superstars Mammootty, & Mohanlal, and a Telugu movie Don’t Trouble The Trouble scripted by Shashank Yeleti.
