Actor Vishal Krishna last graced the silver screens at the beginning of this year in the action-comedy drama Madha Gaja Raja crafted by Sundar C with actresses Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Anjali as female leads. The Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai star is presently engaged in his next project. Director Ravi Arasu, who is known for his action flicks Eetti and Ayngaran, has written the script and is helming the project.
Actress Dushara Vijayan of Sarpatta Parambarai fame will be seen in the female lead role in the drama. Actors Anjali, Sampath Raj, and Yogi Babu have been contracted to play key roles in the entertainer. The project recently went on floors with the working title Vishal 35. We now have news that the movie has been christened Magudam. The makers have announced the title with a title teaser. Actor Vishal himself has shared the title teaser of the flick on social media.
Taking to his official X profile, actor Vishal unveiled a special poster along with a link to the title teaser of Magudam and worded, “Here we go. It’s time to reveal the TITLE of my next film. Presenting to all you darlings all over the world. The official Title Teaser of Vishal 35 & SGF99 hope u all enjoy it. God bless MAGUDAM மகுடம் Tamil. A G V Prakash Kumar Musical! One minute of the title teaser of Magudam opens with an underwater shot of a lot of sea animals swimming through. The camera slowly navigates above water to an animated crab climbing upwards in a ship, and moves to a back shot of actor Vishal standing in a harbor.
Talking about the flick to a leading daily, director Ravi Arasu stated, “Magudam will be a gangster film. My previous ventures were intense and high on action. You can expect something in similar lines in this entertainer too. But we are doing it in a bigger scale.”
Speaking further he divulged, “We have planned to wrap the film in three schedules of shoot. If everything goes as planned, we should be able to complete the shoot by the end of this year.” Shoot for Magudam is currently underway in Ooty.
Music composer G V Prakash Kumar has been roped in to handle musical instruments for the movie. This will be his second association with actor Vishal following their previous success in Mark Antony. Cinematographer Richard M Nathan is once again cranking camera for actor Vishal after their collaboration in Samar, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Kaththi Sandai, and Madha Gaja Raja.
Editor N B Srikanth has been brought on board to work on the editing department of the flick. Art director G Durairaj will be designing the background for the venture. Stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan will be choreographing action moves for the venture. The project is funded by R B Choudary under the production house Super Good Films. Magudam will be the 99th production of the prestigious production group.
On the professional side, actor Vishal is currently shooting for multiple movies via the sequel of his hit spy thriller Thupparivaalan under his own direction in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Prasanna & Rahman, two of his untitled dramas helmed by directors Ajay Gnanamuthu and Gautham Vasudev Menon. Apart from these entertainers, he has his long-delayed movie Karuppu Raja Vella Raja crafted by story teller Prabhu Deva in which he has teamed up with actors Karthi and Sayyeshaa Saigal in the trunk awaiting release.
On the other hand, actress Anjali has a slew of releases lined up in her pipeline in Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai directed by Ram in which she has featured alongside actors Nivin Pauly & Soori, a couple of her women centric dramas Poochandi filmed by story teller Krishnan Jayaraj in which she has costarred with actor Yogi Babu, and Eegai scripted by director Ashok Velayutham in which she has joined forces with actor Santhosh Prathap.
