Actor Sasikumar had his last outing in the black comedy film Tourist Family directed by Abishan Jeevinth with veteran actress Simran as female lead. The Nandhan actor is now getting ready for the release of his upcoming venture My Lord. Story teller Raju Murugan, who has carved a space for himself in the industry with projects like Joker and Cuckoo, has written and helmed the drama.
Arunmozhi Pandian has functioned as a co-director in the film. Kannada actress Chaithra J Achar of 3 BHK fame has been cast against the actor in the flick. The makers have already begun to promote the entertainer. They have been releasing singles from the album on social media. They have now launched the trailer of the movie.
Taking to his official X profile, actor Sasikumar himself shared a special poster along with a link to the trailer of My Lord and worded, “My Lord Trailer Out Now ஒரு தீர்ப்பெழுதுற அதிகாரத்தை அந்த பரபிரம்மா ஒரு கடைக்கோடி மனுஷன்கிட்ட கொடுத்துருக்கு. Two and a half minutes long trailer of My Lord opens to a man asking Sasikumar who has put a noose around his neck in a public place, “Our collector is from north India. What will he think about our village?” He responds, “Let the entire nation know that a family from this village is alive, but wandering around as spirits.”
The collector chimes in, “Suicide is not the solution to anything, do you know that Thiruvalluvar said, Muthu?” Sasikumar retorts, “Sir, I did not even listen to our MLA, who the hell is he?” The shot cuts to a policeman comically enquiring Sasikumar with his Aadhar & voter ID, “You are dead, but you are alive. You are alive, but you are dead. It seems like a S J Suryah movie.”
Following which we have actress Chaithra J Achar telling Sasikumar, “Vaniamma says, ‘Mary tag along with someone and get your own ration Card.’ If I must get such a ration card, your name should be above mine.” In a funny scene, a character jokes to Sasikumar, “Muthu Sirpi, it was my wife who made me bleed. You will be remembered in history as a man who shed blood for his wife.”
In trademark Raju Murugan style we have a character pointing to the inefficiency of our political system, “Which is the largest democracy in the world? India! The largest black market in the world? That too goes to India.” Then a character says, “That is why I found a smooth way. Do you know why God has given humans two kidneys like orange candy? If we give a kidney to someone in need, he will be happy and we can also be at peace.”
The casting crew of My Lord also includes actors Jaya Prakash, Guru Somasundaram, Gopi Nainar, Asha Sharath, and Vasumithra. Music director Sean Roldan has been trusted with the musical division of the project. Already two singles ‘Esa Kaaththa’ in the vocals of Sathyaprakash & Chinmayi written by Yugabharathi, and ‘Raasathi Raasa’ in the lyrics of Yugabarathi sung by V M Mahalingam & Muthu Sirpi is out from the album.
Cinematographer Nirav Shah has worked on the cinematography division of the entertainer. Editor Sathyaraj Natrajan has been engaged to bring coherence to the flick. Art director Muni Palraj has designed the background for the movie. Stunt director C Prabhu has engineered action blocks for the project. My Lord is bankrolled by Ambeth Kumar and Jayanthi Ambeth Kumar along with Sanjay Shanmugam under the production label Olympia Movies.
On the professional front, actor Sasikumar has a couple of films lined up in his pipeline for release in Freedom scripted by Sathyasiva in which he has associated with actress Lijomol Jose, Pagaivanuku Arulvai crafted by Anees in which he has partnered with actresses Vani Bhojan & Bindhu Madhavi, Naa Naa helmed by N V Nirmal in which he has performed alongside actor Sarathkumar, and Evidence filmed by Ranjith Manikandan.
The Ayothi actor is currently working on his next entertainers Paramaguru filmed by Jiyen Krishnakumar, a couple of untitled films directed by M Guru in which he will be seen alongside actors Bharath, Megha Shetty, Malavika, & Sathyaraj, a project under the directorial of Dharani Rajendran in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Sshivada, and a flick under the direction of Velraj.
