Actor Sarathkumar last graced the silver screens in the action film Kombuseevi helmed by Ponram with actors Shanmuga Pandian and Tharnika in lead roles. The Smile Man actor is gearing up for the release of his upcoming action drama titled Aazhi. Malayalam director Madhav Ramadasan is poised to make his debut in Kollywood with the flick.
Actors Indrajith Jagajith and Devika Satheesh will be seen in prominent supporting roles in the movie. Aazhi is all set to hit the screens on 27th of February. The production house had earlier dropped the teaser of the venture. They have now shared the trailer of the film on social media.
Taking to his official X handle, actor Sarathkumar himself launched a special poster along with a link to the trailer of Aazhi and worded, “The Aazhi Trailer is OUT NOW. The two minute trailer of Aazhi begins with an aerial shot of a vessel sailing in the ocean. A small boat approaches it, and a person in it shows a box of weapons to Sarathkumar and asks him, “Moorthy Bai, have you seen it.” Then we have quick montage shots of actor Sarathkumar attending a party, a bag full of cocaine & cash, and a dog barking in a boat.
Following which Sarathkumar is stopped by coast guards at sea to inspect his boat. He informs them, “Sir, I am a boat mechanic. I have come to review the vessel.” The officer rebukes him, “This is a restricted area. Don’t you know that you are not supposed to sail this far?” Then we witness the actor brutally thrashing up people. Subsequently, an individual says to Sarathkumar, “The new SP is creating a lot of trouble.” To which he responds, “Should I be scared of him?”
In a scene we witness him advising his daughter, “While studying, your complete focus should be on your studies.” The trailer ends with a character pleading with him, “No sir, if I come outside, you will kill me.” Aazhi is said to be a revenge tale that follows a father as he sets out to avenge his daughter’s murder by slaying those behind it.
Casting unit of the film also comprises actors Sreejith Revi, Birla Bose, Teena Bhatia, Vaiyapuri, Thamarai Selvi, Sarjin, Biju Mavunkal Varghese, Mythili Sathyaraj, and Binish Babu. Music composer Jassie Gift has scored music for songs in the flick. While music director William Francis has composed background score for the entertainer. Oscar recipient Resul Pookutty has handled the sound department of the venture.
Cinematographer Anand N Nair has worked on the cinematography department of the project. Editor K Sreenivas has been trusted with the editing division of the flick. Art director Pradeep M V has fashioned the background for the movie. Action master Phoenix Prabhu has designed action blocks for the drama.
The venture is bankrolled by Sajit Krishnan under the production label 888 Production partnering with K Ravi for the banner house Celluloid Creations. S Hari Uthraa of Uthraa Productions has acquired the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the entertainer.
On the professional side, actor Sarathkumar is expecting consecutive releases in Criminal crafted by director Dhakshina Moorthy Ramar in which he has joined forces with actors Gautham Ram Karthik & Janani Iyer, and Adangathey helmed by Shanmugam Muthusamy in which he has shared screen space with actors G V Prakash Kumar & Surbhi. The Dude actor is now busy shooting for her next venture Pamban directed by A Venkatesh in which he will be teaming up with actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Pirandhal Parasakthi filmed by Om Vijay in which he will be costarring with actresses Varalaxmi Sarathkumar & Radhika Sarathkumar, and Samaran scripted by Thirumalai Baluchamy in which he will be collaborating with actors Vidharth & Suhasini.
