Actor Samuthirakani recently had a release via the digital space in the crime thriller Thadayam filmed by newbie Navinkumar Palanivel with actress Sshivada in the female lead role. The Thondan actor will soon have his next release in the life drama christened Carmeni Selvam. Debutant story teller Ram Chakri has written and directed the project.
Actress Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli of Odu Raja Odu fame will be seen in the female lead role in the movie. Director and actor Gautham Vasudev Menon has essayed a prominent part in the entertainer. Carmeni Selvam is poised to hit the screens on 3rd of April. The production house has now dropped the teaser of the film on social media.

One minute teaser of Carmeni Selvam opens to a bird’s eye view shot of a boat on the sea to the voiceover of actor Samuthirakani, “Shanthi, there are many ways to make money.” Following which several characters counsel him, “If you earn 200 rupees, spend 2000 rupees. Then 200000 rupees will come your way.” The shot cuts to actor Gautham Vasudev Menon telling him, “Later, family and business grew to the next level.”
An individual advises a person, “Find people like him. And ensure they understand the importance of insurance.” Subsequent shot has someone telling Samuthirakani, “A person who has the courage to build a house using a loan can be considered a millionaire.” Someone else recommends, “Invest in cryptocurrency. Hereafter, everything is digital. What now in thousands will grow into millions.”
A character misleads him, “Just in case you cannot repay the loan, you will simply be slapped with a legal notice. That is it!” Towards the end of the teaser, a character asks Samuthirakani, “Sir, please explain it in simple terms.” He responds, “If you want to become rich, learn to live like the rich. Spend as you please. No money? Then borrow and spend.” The teaser ends with his son telling him, “Dad! You are a genius, dad.”
The casting team of Carmeni Selvam also includes actors Karthik Kumar, Abhinaya, Madhumitha, Karan Chakravarthi, Arjunan, Sankara Narayan V, Badava Gopi, Haritha Parakod, and Kothandam. The music of the drama has been composed by Musicloud Studio & Technology which leverages AI to score music.
Cinematographer Yuvaraj Dakshan has overseen the cinematography department of the movie. Editor Jagan has been brought on board to bring coherence to the film. Art director G Durairaj has erected sets for the entertainer. Stunt master Abishek Srinivas has choreographed action moves for the venture. Carmeni Selvam is produced by Arun Rangarajulu under the production house Pathway Productions.
