The nearly four minute promo of Seyon opens with a note, ‘Second day of Maasi Kalari village festival.’ Following which we witnessed a massive crowd in front of a police station. A cop instructs them, “Everyone, move! Get them out of here, Shanmugapandi! Move it. Sir is here. The inspector’s here. Everybody, be quiet!” A man from the crowd informs him, “A big fight broke out at the Maasi Kalari festival, sir.”
Pointing at a bunch of teenagers in the station, the inspector asks his subordinate, “Hey . . . who are they?” He enlightens him, “They flashed lasers at the dancers and posted it as reels, sir! So, someone thrashed them and shaved half his head.” Then he instructs him, “Bring the festival committee elders here.” He shows a group of people and says, “They are right here.”
The inspector enquires a man in the gang, “Why did they hit you?” He tells him, “They asked which play it was. I answered and got whacked in the mouth.” He asks him, “Alright, what play did you say it was?” He replies, “Valli Thirumanam, sir.” An accused ponders loudly, “He attacked someone over a play about gods. Is he an atheist?” His fellow accused intervenes, “Hey, he is the one who channels god!”
Chaos ensues as one bloc tries to block the village festival procession led by Sivakarthikeyan midway. A bystander says, “He was just serving in the army and going to protests. They dragged him into this. And now, he is going to unleash hell.” The final shot of the teaser has actor Bala Saravanan mouthing, “You wanted him here, did not you?” and actor Sivakarthikeyan fiercely says, “Here I come!”
