Making sequels is a trend is of every industry and the Tamil movie industry os no exception. Sequels of blockbuster films do good business owing to their populariity and is a good and easy business for filmmakers. Listed below are a few Tamil sequels that the audience is rooting for.

1. ‘Sammy Square‘ is the sequel of the crime thriller superhit film, ‘Sammy’ where Vikram will be seen again in the role of the foul mouthed cop, Aarusaamy.
2. ‘Vishwaroopam 2‘, the thriller on spies by Kamal Hassan was lauded by critics and audience and it’s much awaited sequel according to reports is going to finally release this year after lot of controversies.
3. South’s favourite Dhanush is going to be seen in ‘Maari 2’, a sequel of Maari. Produced by Dhanush’s own production house, the gangster comedy will star Sai Pallavi as the female lead.
4. The most awaited film of the year has to be superstar Rajnikanth’s ‘ 2.0’ which is said to been the film with the highest budget in India.
5. ‘Thamiz Padam 2.0‘ is one of the most anticipated sequel of ”Thamiz Padam’ which was a parody film which is going to come back with double the humour this year.
